i dont understand all this phone unlocking malarky

uniquephones generated me 7 codes to unlock my nokia 3510i and i tried codes 1 and 7 first, then 2 and 3.

all gave me 'code error' it says on the site that you can only enter 5 wrong codes before it gets blocked and you have to take it to a shop

    help! ???

It may already be unlocked. Pop in a different sim to see.

    Hi,
I have unlocked my 6600 but I need to unlock a Sagem myX-1, Sony Ericsson T610 and Sharp GX15. They are presents for my family abroad and I need to unlock them to work over there.

Do any of the three offer unlocking via just the code like nokia or do they all need a cable? I bought a nokia 1100 which I will unlock via the software online.

Have successfully unlocked a Samsung T100 before, and now I'm trying my Sony Ericsson T610
Bought a cable from ebay, very cheap! But I don't seem to be able 2 get a connection between phone & cable :(

Anyone recommend me somewhere (cheap!) to get the job done?

    Matt

Well after signing up to other forums with security code query and with no joy, I sat ALL day with phone in hand punching in any number I thought might be relevant.

I eventually hit on the right one and got security settings off. BUT as soon as I put the new 02 Sim in, it comes up as BT CELLNET and manually trying to find the 02 network doesn't work, 02 isn't even on the list.....just BT, Vodafone and Orange.

Could this be because of poor coverage in my area, or possible a dodgy sim?
the phone is comeing up as btcelnet because its an old phone so the firmwere is set to think that the o2 sim is bt cellnet which is just there old name no problems at all there and nothing to worry about
