Thanks for that info sans, guess I'll be getting one of those emails tonight!!0

Re legal issues:
1 Only the person who applied for the respective "universal" code will have agreed to any Terms and Conditions - if you picked it up off here then you didn't agree to any T&Cs so they cannot be enforced against you (ie. though any form of legal action)
2 The orders can, and may, be cancelled becuase the codes have been misused. This is all that will happen though.
3 Play will not initiate legal action against someone for using one of these codes - legal action would not be worth it for the sake of £5, especially considering bad publicity and the fact they are an overseas-based company.0 -
I placed 13 orders and have had confirmation emails immediately. If they let me have the discount I will have saved £65, my total order value was £207.87 for 13 items and with the discount is £132.87 :T I really hope I get them at this price fingers crossed I also went through Mutual points for my 1% cash back.0

Dear
It has come to our attention that you have used more than one Daily Mirror
Voucher on your account. Contained in the Terms and Conditions is a clause
which states that only one voucher per applicant may be used.
Sadly, with this in mind, we have cancelled any outstanding orders on your
account which have been purchased using a voucher. We do this under clause
11 of the Terms and Conditions which give us the right to refuse any
voucher redemption if we suspect any fraud or malredemption.
Kind Regards
Play

Small point on this.
That is not the kind of money they would have received for this promotion - in their projections for the offer they would have predicted that the majority of their products are OVER £5, meaning that most of the orderrs will not be for £0.00. They would also take into account the average order value of their current orders and seen if reducing this by £5 would still mean a profit against their margins.
They would have in their projections however that a maximum of 75,000 vouchers would be used (when in reality if they have done it correct would have been a lot less than this), however due to their systems not being correctly configured (and meaning that vouchers can be used multiple times) they may well take a hit on this.
From what I can tell most peoples orders will still be honoured, but some may get the email that has been posted on this thread if they have ordered multiple times on the same account.0 -
jlittle wrote:Can you explain exactly how it is breaking the law? The terms and conditions of the offer are NOT shown at checkout, and the only way that you can find these is if you received a copy of the voucher yourself.
If (as many here have) you were given the voucher code and told it was £5 off, all you are doing is using a code given to you.
The person that gave you the code should give you the complete email since the Terms and Conditions form part of the voucher.
It's Play's own fault for not making these codes unique and they have only themselves to blame. If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' someone else's dog around!0 -

i've had one account cancelled (incidentally i think the fact that it required a "security check" got it noticed (my address always seems to fail the check against the card)),
but i would have thought that the obvious thing for them to do would be to make all the vouchers one use and then cancel the orders (otherwise everyone is simply going to place one order per account and they'll have to check each and every one of them)0 -
