Morning :santa2:
Very bad night, but not going to moan!!

Have a washload in ATM and will be TD after. DW needs going on after breakie and toilet has been cleaned. House is pretty much clean and tidy and have cleaner coming tomorrow, so today is rest day as Im feeling so tired and in pain. In a min though, I have to get the lamb stew on
Its so cold here today that Ive put the fire on in lounge which rarely goes on. Ive decided Im going to invest in a clothes airer and I can put in my bedroom in front of radiator
Breakie:cereal and fruit
Lunch: jacket spud/coleslaw and cheese
Dinner:lamb stew and mash
Anyways, will catch up later. Take care all.

PP - Sorry to read you are in pain; hoping the day will improve for you. Good luck with getting your clothes horse! :j :j
Forgot to mention above with the Mini MSE's ... they also traded in their old PS2 games so they could buy a new game for their GBA (they don't play on them very often - it's used as a motivational tool- and they won't be getting any new one's from Father Christmas either. They took them to "Game", earned a nice little bit of "virtual" money, added a small amount each from their long term savings (which they were given permission to spend on the basis that they had done so very well with their first year of budgetting) and ended up with one of the top games for just a couple of quid! :j :j
The added bonus to this being that they are now quite contented to "earn" game time (which keeps them happy) and are not getting tetchy or unbearable in the run up and excitement of the forthcoming weekend

'morning everyone :santa2:
What a lovely family you have Queenie ... you definately have every right to feel proud of your youngsters!
Sorry to hear you are not feeling well Penny Pincher ... hope things start to pick up for you.
Sorry to hear about the car costs jw1096, it always seems to be this time of year when things go wrong. Just had to pay out on the car and OH's motorbike so I know the feeling.
Today I am working from home and will be baking for our 'office do' during my lunch break. We are all taking something in tomorrow and having a bit of party to celebrate Christmas.
It's late night shopping in town tonight, so youngest DD and I are going in to see if there are any bargains ... and also just to lap up the Christmas atmosphere :snow_grin
Have a lovely OS day everyone!Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Morning folks :hello:
Just packed DS1 off to school and he's really excited he can do puzzles all day - he doesn't see them as 'work' (yet) He didn't want to take a toy because he wanted to do times tables and word searches. Luckily I think Santa may be bringing puzzle books as stocking fillers :snow_grin I pick him up at 1.15 so only a half day to get jobs done.
Thought I may have managed a lie in of sorts this morning. DS2, who crept in with me at 5am fell asleep (and not on top of me for a change) so I also managed to sleep. Would have kept going past 7am but 'the men' arrived next door at this ungodly hour and decided to dismantle the scaffolding that has been there for 2 months  And lets face it, you can't dismantle it quietly!
Managed to get lots of little jobs done last night. Going to take a trip to whichever supermarket I find myself at in a little while to get the perishables and fill the car up. May even wash it at a car wash (yes, shock horror - 'wasting money') but it's so filthy it's almost dangerous and it's too cold and damp and I've too much else on to do it myself. Need to do more cleaning and tidying and take all the toys up from living room to bedrooms, in case Santa brings more this weekend. :xmassmile
Must make some cakes, but may do that this aft and let boys help (or may do it when they are in bed so I can just get on and do it)
B: Cereals and teaSoup and toast
T: Haven't thought that far ahead - freezer use ups probably.
Have a good day. Gotta go make a start.

For a change I have the day to myself. In about 30 mins I'll be off to see the dentist. I have a tingling sensation in the ends of my fingers which means that i'm nervous....and I can't get the feeling off my mind. Haven't been for ages (ie 5 years) which is probably why I a bit scared. I'm sure I'll be fine....but I'm not sure my bank balance will be though.
OH said to me this morning that I'd better not cancel the appointment. To be honest I can't, as I'd only delay the inevitable...and I'd feel terrible come Christmas. Once its over I'm going to come home, make some bread, wrap up OH's pressies (currently laid out on the bed) and start on the tidying up ready for our exit on Friday afternoon.
have limited myself to £25 on OH this year, and I think I have done remarkably well this time round (can't give detail as he does read the boards).
Anyway, I see you folks later after I've been round the boards in an attempt to distract myself from the events at the dentist in a short while.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Good morning all
Everything went pukey in the house of pooky last night as DD2 turned from white to red to green and redecorated her bedroom as only children know how too!! She's literally been sick all night, DH was very worried about her getting dehydrated but her body simply couldn't cope with water....she's now sitting up in bed demanding her new duvet cover (typically she had to throw up on the new one) and asking when she can have a glass of milk and some chocolate spread......how do they manage to bounce back so quickly???
DD's were supposed to be going to mothers today so I could finish all my jobs.....instead I've promised them access to the material box and a lesson on how to make a paper pattern for some clothes for their teddies, DD1 then wants to learn how to use my sewing machine......I sense some very fashionable teddy clothes coming on!
Dinner last night went to pot - amazing how you don't feel like eating when you're cleaning up someone elses lunch. Tonights dinner will be jacket spuds and beans for us and toast with maybe a dippy egg for DD.
The ironing pile needs attacking at some point in the day but then again it will still be there tomorrow.
Queenie - Sounds like your boys are getting ready to take over from Martin! :money:
Purplegirl - Hope you have fun at the zoo...looks mighty muddy out there today.

Morning all :hello:
I'm not feeling too great today - got a bit of a cold, and my stomach feels slightly delicate and gassy (sorry if TMI!) - the 2 large glasses of wine I had with my dinner last night seem to have affected my digestion much worse than that quantity usually would (must be cos I'm so run down). Had great difficulty getting up this morning, despite 7 1/2 hours of solid restful sleep. Looking forward to not having to get up for work until 3rd January! My holiday starts for real on Boxing Day, because I'll have choir on Saturday and Sunday (am praying I have a reasonable amount of voice by then) and lots of Christmas preparation to do on Saturday morning.
Had a bit more trouble from the local yobs last night - just standing outside in the street shouting and swearing. No more actual damage caused to the property (since the stone to the porch window a few weeks ago) - I suspect this might have something to do with the large (non-operational, as it happens) CCTV cameras my housemate's had installed at the front of the house
Tomorrow is payday though I'm going to get hit for tax because of freebies associated with a share scheme I've just signed up to with work. Should only set me back about £75 by my reckoning, which I'll probably cover out of this year's stoozing interest. The drawback of the share scheme is that because I'm planning to leave my current job very soon, they won't be able to deduct future tax (on profits etc) through my payroll so it will complicate my tax situation for evermore - bet I'll have to file a tax return from now on
Got lots to do today cos some of the managers aren't working tomorrow which means anything that needs signing this week will have to be prepared today.
Looking forward to when the day is over and I can go home for a tidy up (house is like a pigsty again, and housemate gets back from holiday tomorrow) and a rest - don't fancy cooking this evening so have taken a portion of casserole out of the freezer.
P-P - sorry you're not feeling well today.
Queenie - bless your little Mini MSE's! When I was their age I thought I had the right idea - I used to wait until the end of the school fete/autumn fayre until everything was reduced to 10p (or free) and then buy everything in sight! But of course that meant I ended up with a load of junk - my mum didn't quite know what to do with meOperation Get in Shape

Quennie, I wish my kids had that in them :snow_laug They are costing a fortune this week!!
Well today is my last day at work until Tuesday :snow_grin and I can't wait.
Today I have some last minute Ebay posting to do and some last minute bits to get from Asda (using up the last of my coupons). Then I can put my feet up (not)
Have a lovely day everyone :santa2: :santa2:

Hi
Thanks guys...your all soooo sweet
I think we all got too cold yesterday as we all seem to have slight head colds with throats hurting etc  nevermind!
The stew smells lovely and thought as we feel so rough extra veggies and nutritious food was needed. So only used 250g of diced lamb and made up with carrots, onions, swede, spuds, peas, tin of baked beans and worcester sauce and stew mix. Will probably serve with mash as only put 3 smallish spuds in there. DD is munching on a large red delish apple and banana chopped up in bowl and yogurt
2nd washload in and DW done and emptied by OH.
Catch up later. Have a great day.

Morning All
I can't believe how much more I've still to do for Christmas. Got a trip to Tesco tonight, for the final needs, like fruit and veg.
Trying to cut back on spending, and was very good and resisted the urge to buy in a freshly made bacon sarnie, and remembered I bought a sarnie from home and settled for that
Been a bit loose with spending lately, so new year's resolution is to remember to be tight! Especially with myself.
We found some really old wrapping paper in the loft yesterday, but we've sorted through and found loads of it's still ok to use. :rudolf:Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0
