Why thank you TM
(The Piglet nickname stuck because as I was born they took a while to clear my airways, and apparently I was making oink oink noises as well as being small and pink)
You've done me another favour actually - your mention of brandy in your previous post has reminded me of something I keep forgetting. I've been to the supermarket twice now for Christmas food and drink and both times I've thought - when I get home I must check to see if I still have some "cooking brandy" for setting fire to the Christmas pud. I haven't checked yet  In fact if I don't have any cooking brandy I don't have ANY brandy, as the armagnac that was too good for cooking with was finished up a couple of months ago...
Hope I still have my old bottle of the cheap stuff cos otherwise I feel another trip to Lidl coming on.Operation Get in Shape

urgh.. afternoon.
[start moan]
Got the horrible letter from work i mentioned yesterday .. wasnt CONFIRMING i was fired...... it was asking me to attend a meeting to "discuss my absence due to ill health as my period of support is ending" the meeting "is part of the disciplinary procedure and MAY lead to my dismissal from the company" if i dont attend the meeting it will "be held in my abscence and MAY lead to my dismissal from the company"..... Now in all the time ive been at Tesco i know from experiance and have heard if from a managers mouth... MAY lead to... always mean WILL!So im gettin "dismissed" whether i attend the meeting or not... which i kinda knew anyway.
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT just to make it an even nicer letter .. guess when the meeting is...... 24th December at 3pm!!!!!!!!! Yes they intend to fire me at 3pm on christmas eve. What a Christmas present eh? "sorry your off with depression and anxiety attacks... here you go..... happy christmas... your fired!" Means its too late for me to sign on or anything as everything will be shut down for christmas for what 5 days this year?? Its gonna spoil mine and my families christmas and Mr Tesco couldnt give a hoot.
[/moan]
Not done much today except rang around... had a very non-OS meal just now.. microwavable baguette! Come from my mums hamper and she wont be using so would be a waste.. Bit carboardy and microwavey but it filled a hole and the filling was nice! Cumberland sausage and onion with tomatoe sauce! Might try a HM one sometime.
Gotta go into town with a friend today - explained all my situation so hes demaned i go out with him and he'll cheer me up. Hes going to buy me a belt ive seen that i couldnt justify buying. Its £8 from H&M and ive been in twice this week and picked it up.. then put it back..cos i thought £8 was a bit much for a belt. i wanted it for xmas day to go with a jumper dress i have got to wear thats "missing" something but i know i could wear it again with my jeans etc. Just still couldnt justify it as i didnt have the money "spare". He was only gonna buy me chocolates anyway so this is more useful and less fattening
Going up to my mums too to see Nicki, her OH and their DD before they go away to her OH's family for Christmas. Cant wait for next year when they'll be here (they alternate years between barrow-in-furness and liverpool)
Got the credit card bill this morning... £1125.13! Gotta edit my signature... to put my debt UP... and work out what it actually is.. as ive spent on it since the statement was done!
Think i might have to resort to selling my body at this rate! :rotfl: Only way im gonna be debt-free and have a roof over my head!
Ah well maybe the day might get a bit more cheery and OS as it goes on.
Speak later hunnies

:xmassmile Not been up to posting or even reading for a few days! Just wanted to wish all Old Stylers a very happy Christmas, and hoping that those who were celebrating yesterday had a good time! My daughter and son-in-law have asked us round for Christmas lunch - first time I haven't cooked it in 32 years, apart from one year when we were staying at my brother's :snow_grin DD has a DW too, so I won't even feel I ought to offer to help wash up. Bliss!
I'm in my church choir so will have to try and make it to Midnight Mass - DH says he'll give me a lift to church when we've watched Bridget Jones, and I've managed to arrange a lift home too. Now all I need is the energy to sing
Bargain Rzl - glad the concerts went well! A teaspoonful of honey each day is good for the voice, but I expect you knew that. (Though obviously no good for any singers who are diabetic)
Hugs to anyone who isn't having an easy time at the moment, either for health or personal reasons.
Wishing you joy

Hi everyone,
I too have not really felt up to posting recently, but thought I'd make an effort;) .
To johanne, I too have depression, and would like to wish you well. Sorry to hear about the nasty interview. Just try and get through it, then try to enjoy Christmas with your family.
You could always ask the Manager to bend over whilst you poke one of these :xmassign: somewhere.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I have done the first of my Christmas food shop today, and am being far more restrained than my usual shop. Last year most of it went in the bin due to illness, so this year I am not taking any chances. I've been to Aldi & Lidl today and spent just over £55.00 which was paid for out of my share dividend from the co-op which I had saved up over the year.
Just got to pick up the Turkey and veg on saturday and thats it, I will be ready to batten down the hatch and relax for a few days.
If anyone is interested, I picked up a meat thermometer from aldi today for £2.29, which will take the guess work out of cooking the Turkey this year:doh:
I have to cook two christmas lunches this year, as it's the year that the kids are at their Dads for the 25th & 26th, so me and OH are having goose (from Lidls). Then it's Turkey et al for the 27th when we shall have Christmas day proper, with the pressies etc.
oh well off to find some enthusiasm:snow_laug
QUEENIE, your boys sound just like my daughters. Its great isn't it:rudolf:0 -
Thanks for the huggles girlies.
You lot are the best.
I have got to the point now where im past being upset by them... Im probably just going to write a letter telling them that the time is not convienant for me as i had pre-arranged to visit the lake district with my family (as i wouldnt be working xmas eve or xmas day nights anyway) and were leaving early xmas eve morning and i am not prepared to jeapordise my families christmas to go to a meeting where no matter what my input the outcome will inevitabely be the same so the meeting will have to take place in my abscence and the outcome can be detailed in a letter sent to me at my home address for me to recieve after christmas.
Not going to let them spoil my life anymore than they already have the last 10 months. I wish id never took the job because all ive had since in stress, exhausting myself to save their backsides, let downs, sexual harrassment, disciplinarys for being ill covered with doctors notes and bullying by both managers and other members of staff.
Im better off out of that hellhole.. and once ive used my clubcard vouchers to get the FREE food off them that ive earnt i'll be travelling 30 mins walk.. apposed to 3 mins.. to shop at Asda cos i dont want them to get a penny out of me anymore.0 -

Big big big hugs to you johanne,
well I am geting really scared now as xmas is so close and the flat is a tip from yesturday and my winter soltice celebrations. went out for a nice early morning walk to watch the sinrise rise through the dense fog and clouds :snow_laug and really was a wonderful sightcame home to make mince pies then off to avebury for a walk round and a little quiet time which was lovely lots of people there and friendly faces that I havent seen for years, so all went to the local for a drink or two.
Ended the day with a big pork carvery for friends and family with lots of mead and wine flowing.
So today have spent tidying although still lots to do. Have xmasy shortbread cooking um yummy.
