    Morning everyone!

DS and myself are both under the weather today and are consequently off school/work respectively. Poor thing, we went to his school Christmas party on Saturday evening and had to come home after half an hour as he was feeling poorly.

I won't be doing anything too strenuous or requiring too much concentration today as you can imagine, but I made some minestrone soup yesterday in my pressure cooker and i will have that for lunch. We also had a roast chicken for tea yesterday and there is loads left so DS can have chicken sandwiches. I bought a large chicken by mistake but now I can't for the life of me think why I ever bought anything smaller. Usually there is enough meat just for the roast dinner, but today I have enough for sandwiches or chicken & veg pancakes or something like that. It takes no more effort and just a little longer cooking time. Why have I never done this before? Doh!

I am half way through knitting a very simple scarf on big needles with very fancy yarn so I may get a bit more of this done. Apart from that and maybe a bit of online Christmas shopping, I will be having a very easy day, that is assuming DS isn't too bad.

    Have a good day everyone.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUEENIE :j

Am feeling very frustrated with myself because I got NOTHING done this weekend. Remember I said I had to be super-duper organised and get loads done on Saturday, because I have so little free time in the next two weeks? Well it all went to pot because I went to bed on Friday night (or I suppose technically Saturday morning) at 1am and slept till 3pm on Saturday! I only just had time to dash out to pick up my dry cleaning before I had to go out for the evening.

I suppose I needed the sleep, but it means that now my life is in chaos. I haven't done any cooking, ironing, ordering of Christmas food delivery or writing of Christmas cards, all of which I intended to get done and dusted on Saturday (though thanks to a bit of help from housemate, I did manage to get all my washing and drying - 3 loads - done). I have to sing two arias for a church benefit concert TOMORROW and I still can't sing them without making mistakes. I also have another concert to sing in 12 days' time, and I need to learn my part properly as we're doing it without the music (anybody in London, free on 17th December and interested in classical music, PM me if you want more details of the concert). I also didn't manage to get my article finished for the website I contribute to.

So I have to make up for lost time. I will therefore be aiming to get the following things done this evening:

    1. Shopping - veggies for cooking, see no.2
    2. Cooking - enormous sausage casserole and large quantity of rice, to be portioned up and put in the fridge/freezer to feed me for rest of week.
    3. Singing practice - get tomorrow's music sorted out at least
    4. Writing - finish website article
    5. Christmas - work out what we need and place food/booze order with Asda; start on cards
    6. General - draw up schedule of when things will be achievable in the next 2 weeks.

All this depends on my beiong able to escape from the office at a reasonable hour (if I'm on the 6pm train home that'll be ideal)...

Also have a fashion problem - anybody know where I can get a stunning black or red evening dress for under £50 (size 14) by Saturday week?

Eek - I can't believe all my plans have fallen into such disarray just because of a few lost hours on Saturday!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUEENIE

Busy at work today, and I've got to pop out at lunchtime to post an ebay parcel (Yeh, I actually GOT ROUND to listing!!!! :j ) so no great domestic wots its expected until DD is tucked-up in bed. Looks like its just a hope-to-clear-up-more-mess-than-we-make sort of day. DH will be menu planning and shopping at Tesco this evening, whilst I do another stint at Christmas pressie wrapping.

    Better skiddadle!

Morning all, and happy birthday, queenie!
You are all so busy already! Puts me to shame!! Only major job for today is to get rid of the ironing pile and maybe start to write a few cards and wrap a few pressies. I am waiting for my washing to finish so i can see how my cheapo Netto washing powder has worked. £1.99 for a big box! So cold here, it has to be a tumble drier day!

Bargain Rzl - about your dress - Primark, George at asda, Tesco or Matalan! Marks and Spencer have some lovely dresses for under £50 as well.

BTW - can anyone tell me how to reply to a post with only a bit of a quote included? I know how to reply and include the whole quote, but can't seem to work out how to pick out the one or two lines I want. Thanks.

Just press Quote to bring up the whole message, then delete the bits you don't want.

Happy Birthday Queenie, I hope it's all you could wish for.

Been to Curry's and they refunded me for the aerial with no questions asked. That's £15 I am better off by :D
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
