Also have a fashion problem - anybody know where I can get a stunning black or red evening dress for under £50 (size 14) by Saturday week?

Next and Dorothy Perkins both have fantastic dresses in red or black, stunning evening wear and both are only 35 pounds. A friend of mine got one last week and it looks FAB.

Thanks, that's really helpful! I'm singing in this concert on Sat 17th, which is a semi-staged performance (i.e. evening wear rather than costumes) and I'm playing Herod's wife! So I have to look quite exotic and slutty, which I figured would be best done with a sexy red or black dress and some tasteless blingy accessories (so I can wear the dress again for other things when I'm NOT supposed to look like a slapper :D ) I have a black velvet dress but I tried it on yesterday and found it was a bit too small and squashed my boobs flat! - I think ebay will be seeing it before too long!

Might pay the Greenwich peninsula shops a visit on the way home from work on Thursday.

Am now trying to draw up my "How to get everything done in the run-up to Christmas" schedule while working - it'll save me some time this evening and I need all the time I can get! I've also had stern words with my bosses and stated categorically that I will be working strict hours for the next two weeks - otherwise chaos will descend upon my life! Am also aiming for a day off next Monday, mainly to recover from a party on Sunday night, but should be able to get a few things organised at least.

Lunch will be reheated remains of sausage and bacon pasta bake.

    Hello everyone,
    Happy birthday to Queenie
Late start today, as I had to go out & meet my mum & MIL from their holiday during the early hours - their coach was delayed due to a strike in France (ferries again, so they had to wait for a train through the tunnel) so they were back later than expected. So I have had a lie-in this morning.
Not got too much done today, washing washed & on line - am watching the weather carefully, though!
D/w still wants unloading, but on the other hand DS & I have had a good morning education-wise.
Also I have done some crochet, am making a curly-wurly scarf - probably to inflict on some victim at Christmas if it turns out ok.
Must go now, DS is suffering from that mild form of starvation that is usually indicated by the plaintive cry of "What's for lunch?"

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUEENIE!!

I have the day off work today as hours owed. Didn't have a lie in though, as I had an appointment to have my hair done by one of the students at local college. Only cost £13 (inc a £3 tip I chose to leave) and I'm very pleased with it. Walked there and back to save on bus fares too.

Have called to increase our mortgage overpayment while we can afford it with my extra job income.

I got the house all cleaned yesterday, all hoovered and nice. We went to a nearby town yesterday and I bought lots of loo rolls to store under the stairs, in Iceland they were 12 rolls for £2.00. I always stock up when I can get them for less than 20p a roll.

Want to get the Xmas presents all wrapped today and cards written. Also need to drive to the bank to pay money in, and may possible go to Lidl to get a board game, depending on whether or not I feel frivolous. I am telling myself I saved £10 on what I thought my hairdo would cost......
Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)

    Happy Birthday Queenie

Having a quiet day - pizza base made and need to have it cooked for 4p.m.

Trying to have a spend nothing day and maybe do this once a week as well as using up stuff we already have in the freezer, cupboards etc rather than just "popping out" to the local shop.

Hope we see curry queen back and regards to all that are having a bad day.

margaret clare goes into hospital today for surgery on Tuesday and I know a lot of us will be thinking of her.

OH has been quite busy today as we have plasterer hopefully coming wednesday to skim the walls outside in office-then he can move all his poxy computer bits and bobs outside and I can have my bedroom back. BIL is finishing the built in wardrobe he started about a year ago but hasnt been able to get to it-coz of DH's desk and puter. So OH has been putting up plaster board and beading etc  so its all done for him to skim.
