    Evening All

Had a nice day with a very good friend who was down from London. She treated me to lunch and is very supportive. We've seen each other through a lot, and she's been where I am now before.

Dinner was smoked haddock with an poached egg and spinach.

Paid for the kitchen today. Finances are now dire. Not been in this serious a situation before. Thought I was going to be able to pay in installments, so very worried now. Just keeping everything crossed that I can get a new, better paid job to get me through this.

    Hope everyone's ok

    Hi all

Sorry, I've been MIA again. School is a bit like this at the moment:  :wall:

Oh, and I'm also managing to come down with a sore throat which feels as if it'll turn into a full blown nasty cold. I'm going to have a lemsip in a moment before heading off to bed. Early! On a Friday night!

Unfortunately our heating is on. We tried to resist putting it on, but eventually had to cave in about a week ago. We've also got the winter duvet out..... The house that we're attached to is currently empty, just waiting for someone to rent it, so we're not even getting their heat through the (wafer thin) walls. :(

I'm having my hair cut tomorrow before we head up the A1 to York for a friend's 30th birthday party!

I hope you're ok. (((hugs))) to those that need them.

Hi all - well, today has been really hectic what with one thing and another; I didn't even get to go food shopping until late afternoon.

RedRuby - (((hugs))) to your nephew.

Hope everyone is OK. We just had to put the heating on after dinner - it was so cold. I've just had a long hot soak in the bath and now feel warm for the first time today. The wind has been very cold here but at least it dried all the washing.

I called into the garage to fill the car; they have a Somerfield supermarket attached to it and they had Andrex on offer for 2 packs of 9 rolls for the grand total of £6! . DH spotted it there yesterday and I thought they would be bound to have run out of it but they still had loads left. That is such a bargain. In the Co-op at the moment they are selling packs of 9 for £5.05. Isn't it amazing how you get so excited about a bargain - even if it is loo roll!

Anyway, I'm about to make some drinking chocolate and settle down on the sofa.

See you all later. Hope all those with coughs, colds and pleurisy are feeling a lot better now.

Evening all the shoeless one reporting back. All I can think of is that Blairweetch is bang on and the shoes are in the car(everything crossed please)
Feel very flat night very unlike me the night before a tour starts. Not sleeping never makes anyone feel better though I guess!
Trying to work out the logistics of said tour-for various reasons I need to make my own way to at least Ipswich and then the following day:eek:  to Brighton:eek:   . Probably can't be done. Got Liverpool next Wed which is fine, then Leicester on Friday(50/50) Birmingham Sunday, which will be fine. Sheffield the next week:confused: not sure but probably ok(ish) then the Big ones.Firstly, I didn't book both tickets(Mark booked one),secondly our situation has changed dramatically since Jan(when the tickets were bought) and as a conciquence the Ipswich-Brighton journey is a eye waterer:eek:  To get to Ipswich from Manhcester you have to go to London, get an underground train(or two can't remember off the top of my head)then get another Train to Ipswich. The journey from Ipswich to Brighton is equally complicated. So who knows.... and all in barefeet eh???:rotfl:
Anyway, I will have a think and something will jump out at me I am sure(my shoes hopefully:rotfl: ) I really don't want to be loaded down wiht "stuff" so I don't know what I will decide. The last time i was in London was for a L42 concert but haven't been there for ages. I have never been to either Ipswich or Brighton.
Mark made the tea which was a really nice cheese pasta(Cheddar, some blue cheese and Leedhammer)and a nice green salad.
Anyway, I am going to have a nice very milky cup of tea and try to get some sleep.
God what a self indulgent self obssed drone. I am sorry. Will do better tomorrow.
Pen-Pin!! hope you are feeling ok.(((((((((((HUGS))))))))))
whatatwit hope your FIL is improving.
MeanMarie hope you are ok and not doing too much.I hope that your beloved Ulick is much better today.
Talking of people doing far too much Smokey you are doing so much. Take care of yourself.(((((((((HUGS))))))
Right I am going to have that cup of tea and a read of tonights posts.. Hope you have a good nights sleep. Take care and thank you.
    Loads of love, Ann xxxxxx

Annie, you can get to Ipswich via Doncaster and Peterboro, is that a better option? (takes ages though)

Thank you redruby, candy and sunnyday for the get well wishes,i hadnt heard of pleurasy before redruby, but if it isnt cleared up,i will go to the doctors :o .

Please do Lyndseyann, although I was feeling much better after the original bug until the chest pain started, and was shocked when the dr said it was pleurisy, easily treated with antibiotics and rest but please don't ignore it as it could get worse. If you have difficulty with breathing phone your dr!

The meds are kicking in and I have been like a dormouse napping most of the time and reading the threads here and fav blogs inbetween naps! Penny has kept me company throughout!

Hoping to at least get some knitting done tomorrow.

Redruby - hope your dn is ok, must be so worrying!

    Night night!

    Hi guys,

just finished the latest bout of iro**ng. Still not feeling to clever but have dosed up with ibuprofen and go on with it today as this weekend may be a washout for doing anything with the kids being home (not going to get to the beach either looking at the forecast).

My lovely sis is helping me to pick up the bunks tomorrow afternoon (I am really chuffed with my 'bargain'. The bunks, mattresses, quilt covers and mattress protectors all for £90 :j :j ) So hopefully the boys will be back up there tomorrow night. I have had the paint pots out today and touched up the kids bedrooms and the hall, stairs and landing and shifted a lot of stuff up in to the attic. The bathroom has had a deep clean and I have hoovered and swiped through the rest.

We had sausage, egg, chips and beans for tea which went down very well with the kids - especially the chocolate muffins for pudding. :D

Tomorrow I need to get the paint and some paper for my bedroom and also a a quick visit to the market for [strike]my thorntons[/strike] a visit to the meat van as apart from some sausages and mince and a couple of packs of bacon the meat shelf in the freezer is looking bare.

Thank you for thinking of my SIL, I am sure they will be touched when I tell them.

Gentle hugs to all in need tonight,

    Smoky. xxxx
