Afternoon all. Hope everyone is happy and warm today-can't believe how cold it is today its a nice crisp day with bright sun though. As to the heating well, we aren't putting ours on anytime soon- we don't have any CH :rotfl: Had saved enough to get some put in but spent it all on Phoebe and don't regret a single penny of it.
I managed about a hour and a half last night and am looking awful. Really pale(but am very fair skinned at the best of times) and HUGE dark circles under my eyes. Must get some more concealer with my Boots points have £179.33 on the card so wil keep me stocked up for a bit:rotfl:
Well its only one more sleep(
I remember that) till the concerts start am trying to get in the mood. I am looking forward to them but...... I feel guilty-got no idea why keep thinking that since the last tour we have burried 3 family members and a very very close friend(just about two years) I htink I have forgotten how to be happy. Pathetic. Aw well I am sure that tomorrow night will be stunning.(as always)

Afternoon all :hello:
(((hugs)))) to Smoky's SIL.
I have a streaming cold, oh what joy. I'm not having quite so much trouble breathing through my nose as I had yesterday, so it seems to be on the mend at least.
It's chilly here in London, and like others I have sworn blind that the heating isn't going on until November. I It might not be too bad, as my flat is usually quite cosy - I moved there in late November 2006 and (partly due to not being there very much) didn't have to have the heating on regularly until Christmas week - but I do think it was quite a warm winter this year. I am waiting for my switch from EDF (who I work for - bad disloyal employee) to E.on to finalise - in theory I am with E.on now but I had the delightful experience of having both of them take direct debits this month  I want to know when EDF are going to send me my final bill. Mioliere, it sounds as though I am on the same E.on tariff as you - I haven't had my energy monitor yet though.
This weekend I need to do some cooking for the freezer, and some Freecycling/loading up bags to go to the charity shop. I am sick of my cluttered flat, and my mum's spending the night in a couple of weeks' time which always concentrates the mind wonderfully as regards sorting the place out.
I did quite a big shop at Tesco yesterday but will need to go out again tomorrow for the things they didn't have or that I couldn't get home on the bus (I didn't have the wally trolley with me).
Hugs to all who need them.
Love Rzl xx

Afternoon all.
Not having a brilliant day today, no sleep last night as Mr LW was "driving the pigs home" with considerable force all night, so I'm 'orribly tired. :undecided Then when I went to get up from the bed this morning, my knees went from under me and I landed up flat on me bum!:embarasse Luckily there was a nice soft rug for me to land on - a nice Chinese one a friend gave me. I reckon the cold weather is well and truly getting to the old joints.
The shower's playing up now, too. It refuses to turn off sometimes, you have to flick it on and off several times. I have asked Mr LW to ring our tame plumber and get him in to sort it out (I don't "do" phones) as it's going to cost a fortune in water if it goes on like that.
Not sure what we'll have for dins tonight - either pizza if I can be ar*ed to put it together, or else veggie sausages & mash.
Mr LW polished off the last of the HM strawberry sorbet last night - and cold weather notwithstanding, wants me to make some more. I still have a few strawberries in the freezer, so it's do-able, but why on earth he wants sorbet when it's brass monkey weather is beyond me.
I have noticed perusing the boards that many of you have to hide the fact that you bulk out food with lentils and such like. That seems so strange to me - Mr LW and I always discuss what we're going to do, and he's all for anything we can do to make food go further - other than giving him smaller portions that is!
Ooh, I've waffled a bit, haven't I?
((((Hugs)))) for all the poorly/worried folks, good luck for those having interviews.
MeanMarie I know several peeps who are on Warfarin, and I believe they do have to d*ck around with the dosage to get it just right, it's not an unusual thing. Let's hope they can get it sorted soon.
Have a good day, all.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Good afternoon everybody, hope you are all well

Afternoon all
seven days 'til hand-in.. I am stressed - but less stressed than I was when I got in yesterday to find my network connection closed and the IT guy AWOL. Grrr... have had to grovel to the IT person in another department but it's all fixed now. Funny really - they let me in the building (which is massively high security) but won't let me on the internet...
I'm not feeling great - and my wonderfully tactless mother succeeding in upsetting me last night (which isn't an easy thing to do) - if I say I'm not well, her immediate first question- every time -is to ask if I'm pregnant, which stings a little given I've had an unpleasently unsuccessful pregnancy in the past and she knows this (as does Dr Jeckyll - who also *still* reminds me how good he was in letting me have two days off to be in hospital  - I will add it was a friday and a saturday and I didn't exactly have a choice - but I will take great pleasure in telling H&S when I leave
). I know she doesn't mean to upset me, she just doesn't realise, but I wish she'd stop it. The irony is is that she always whines that her mum always - everytime she speaks to her - asks her how much she weighs, so I guess I could tell her that tact is obviously hereditary. I guess I'm just a little fractious at the moment so things are getting to me more.
Still.... it might explain the bran flakes  :rotfl: :rotfl: I will not be doing that again. I felt *ahem* cleansed....
I had another e-mail from the [STRIKE]prince of darkness[/STRIKE] my boss wanting me [STRIKE]to do his job [/STRIKE]start the new guy off downstairs. I ignored it.
If he can't be here to deal with new employees, I am sure as hell not doing it.
Some idiot has reversed into my bike and done approx £300 worth of damage - and didn't leave details at the scene. I am not happy about this. I've only just repaired the last set of damage and it's the same things that are broken. Another new tachyometer, both meter covers, right indicators and handlebar end. Annoyed - but will get the garage to fix it this time as I just don't have the strength to do it again.
Smoky - hugs for your SiL and DB
whatatwit - hugs for your FiL
Anniestar - big hugs for you - you are certainly not pathetic, you've been through so much and it's a real sign of a kind and gentle soul to feel the pain of loss in moments where you are to do something for you instead. I hope you have a great time at your concerts
Sybil hun - mummysaver is right - you've done so much since you've been posting here. I love reading your posts because you are so strong. I know that depression makes it hard for us to see what we really do because we focus so much on what we haven't - but you are superwoman; even when you're having a rough day, you still do all the things that are the most important - your little one and DH are so loved and when little bear is older he will remember that rather than the the day you didn't get round the ironing.
Blairweech - would biological washing powder do? That's got enzymes in
Huge hugs to those feeling poorly too
Right - I need to get back to my highly dull list of numbers
have a good day all, cel :staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Just about to do some tidying round as DD comes home for the weekend.
DH will give me a lift to the station at 4p.m. to meet her.
Got Morrison's special deal Indian meals for tea - just as well as I have my new glasses on and having real trouble getting used to them.
Everything looks as if it is sloping downwards - for an awful moment I thought kitchen worktop had collapsed as sink seemed to be "sinking!";)
Still have not put heating on but my hands are freezing!!!!!!
Have a good mind to either buy or make a throw and then have it down here at the computer and also a hot water bottle once it gets colder.
DH is all for not having the heating on but have warned him that when it gets really cold or if people are not well then the heating is going on!!!!!!!
He realised he was getting "the look" and hastily agreed!
Bathroom was cleaned this morning, gas hob in kitchen is now cleaned, dishes are in DW, saucepan is soaking and have hoovered round the house.
Nice to see you anniestar:hello:

Lone Wolf
I don't have to "hide veg" from DH but Dds are going through a picky stage so I do not elaborate on anything I cook.
DH loves stuff like pea soup, lentil soup etc. and if I told him I had grated extra veg, added garlic, lentils etc then he would be quite pleased.
Thank Heaven he is not one of these men who do not think a meal is complete unless there is half a cow on it!!!;)
I have some mashed potato from yesterday in the fridge so I might try to make home made potato cakes later."This site is addictive!"

Hi everyone:hello:
All I can say is apoolgies in advance for the moan that's coming the carpet fitter arrived early, and watched me lift and heave the wardrobes, and bed that he had assured us he's help move when he came for the measurements. He then left the old carpet and all the bits spouting some spurious european law that meant he couldn't remove it, so i'm waiting for my mum to come then we can take it to the tip:rolleyes:
DD has become increasingly hard work over the past week.I can cope with her being upset , that's understandable, but she's now becoming aggressive and verbally abusive towards me and I can't cope with it.The latest argument started cos I asked her to limit the water she's using as we are on a meter, and 10 glasses full for one glass of water isn't on imo:rolleyes: Anyway she says she's looking at a flat near me with a view to moving in, so that's fine by me.we will end up killing each other if she stays and continues to take the mickey:o Sadly I am kind of blaming myself at how spoilt she is, as I over compensated for her absent Dad when she was little:(
Anyway HUGGLES to all in need today esp smokey and sil, redrubys dd,lynds and whatatwits fil, and anyone else i've missed:o
Got lentil and potato soup in the sc and washing on the line, TTFN xxx:A"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
