    Morning :hello:

I had a lie-in today, master troo has to use up his work holidays before the end of the month so he's having every friday and monday off for the next few weeks :j

Troo - I would definitely email the card company. I always thank companies for good service and one of them even asked if they could put my 'testimonial' on their website.
I emailed them yesterday, just after I'd posted :D
I emailed after the last delivery too (a few weeks ago), suggesting a feedback page on their website but they haven't put one on. I think they should - the service is so good, the page would glow :D

I have to go to Tintern today, I put a basket of cards in a gift shop there a few weeks ago. It's my first time back there (I don't even know if any have sold) but mr troo is ill (I thought man-flu but now think it's actual-flu lol) and I don't drive. It doesn't look good if I miss my first re-stock, does it? :undecided But if mr troo is anything like he was yesterday, he'll have no say in the matter - I won't let him drive.

So until mr troo wakes up, I have no idea what we're doing today. We need to go shopping but I may be catching the bus to Asda for basic stuff milk, butter etc. if he's too bad. At least it'll save money, I'll be limited as to how much I can carry and he won't be doing his usual chucking everything and anything in the trolley :D

  • Hello everyone,it's freezing here but at least it's stopped raining. It just poured down last night with a howling gale and being near the coast when it's horrible,it realy is horrible. No heating on and no intention of putting it on.I've got into the habit of making sure I put something on as soon as I get up and to be honest I find I'm coping.OH who is usually a big wuss last night mentioned how cold it was(happened to be standing in short sleeved shirt at the time)I told him to "wrap up then because we were'nt putting the heating on".He turned round and said "Huh,I feel like never putting it on I'm beginning begrudge the thought of using it.It's bloody extortion"What can I say I'm so proud I think he's started to see the light.Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
I slept so well last night but I've got such a busy day.I'm off to Manchester to stay with youngest daughter, just till tomorrow. We are taking our 17 year old granddaughter with us as she has to go for open day at Chester uni.tomorrow.I don't want her to go away and am trying to get her to go to Newcastle which means she can stay at home.Selfish I know but I can't bear the thought of her being on her own.
There's more rain due today so I'm glad I'm off for the night.
Hugs to all that need one.
I hope your day goes well everybody.Take care xxx.

    Morning Everyone

Gosh its cold. I'm going to sort out the heating timer today. I've been MIA as I've got computer probs DH hasnt done anything about it so I'm posting this in small sections.

Its dd pre-school jabs this afternoon and I'm not looking forward to it at all. Never mind it has to be done better a tiny bit of discomfort than Meningitis or Measles. The tiles have arrived for the kitchen so I need to go and pick them up at the same time.

DH is driving me nuts as I have asked him not to snack on the contents of the cupboards as I have a strict meal plan and budget this month but he is determined to make us run out of milk before shopping day. We had a row about it last weekend and it looks like its going to happen again. I've decided that I will use powdered milk for coffee today so that he cant say theres none for breakfast tomorrow. Its all so petty.

Have to go dd is saying she cant get dressed by herself

    Morning peeps

Freezing cold here and very windy but at least the sun is shining or the moment.

I woke up on the sofa this morning and have no idea when i fell asleep, i didn`t sleep very well either and kept waking up but i`m not sure why:rolleyes:
I shall spend the day in a half awake daze and possibly have a nap later.

Big daft dog has lost her collar somewhere in the local park, i doubt that there`s much chance of finding it but i shall be off out soon to have a look for it, bit peed off really as it`s a new one and a new tag too so more expense if it`s not found. Years ago one of our other houndies lost his and some kind soul found it and pushed it through the letter box but i suppose it`s too much to hope that this happens again.

Our little cat is in the best place, all curled up and warm on our bed upstairs, bet she dosen`t move for hours as it`s so cold. :D Then she will be tormenting the houndies.

The heating is on and has been on continuously for 3 days now. I have turned down the stat and it`s about 65 degrees in here which is ok so i may turn it down a bit more. I am able to get the washing dry which is great.
I don`t tend to use the timer just the stat to control the heat as the little old houndie needs to be warm for his arthritis and bundling him up isn`t an option as he needs to move about too, he knows this and regularly moves around a bit to ease the stiffness bless him!

Tea tonight will be a sort of cheesy vegetable bake from some kind lady who posted it on the remoska thread :D i`m looking forward to it as later i shall pick the huge courgette from the greenhouse to go in it :D

    ((((HUGS)))) for your FIL Whatatwit

Smoky ((((HUGS)))) for you and the littlies, extra big ((((HUGS)))) for your Brother & SIL.

I`m off to make a cuppa and empty the wm before braving the wind in the park.

    Have a lovely day peeps.

    Morning all!

Have not read the threads this weeks so (((((hugs)))) to those in need, congrats, happy birthdays etc etc

I am exhausted. I have had rubbish sleep all week and am doing 10 hours every day.Needless to say, I have opted out of working this weekend. *Hopefully* I will have an easy day with an early finish today - we have a double shift on fridays, as weekend shifts are there too.

I have not got my heating on yet - my blanket has been invaluable :) I have night storage heaters though, so extra incentive not to use them.

Not sure what I am doing this weekend yet, think I might spend the whole day tomorrow in bed :).zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........i must update my sig at some point as well.

Does anyone know if there are any enzyme based cleaners on the market in the UK (like Nature's Miracle in the US)? My cat has made a mess on some suede shoes I have (only just found them), and I thought that an enzyme based cleaner would work well.

I must confess to having put my heating on for an hour this morning because I couldn't stand the cold feet any longer! I capped the rate recently and today the postie delivered the energy monitor that was part of the deal with E.On so we need to set that up some time today. The postie was here before 7am and he was wearing shorts! Very nice legs but they must have been cold!

Does anyone know how to work out the running costs of a gas cooker? Now that I'm using my Remoska all the time, I'd like to know what the saving is and I can't find the info!

It may be cold but it's a lovely day for drying the washing, sunny and very breezy!

Essex-girl - we have the same problem with customers paying us on time. One company is really dragging it out which, as you will know, really affects our cash flow. DH won't do any more work for them until they pay; a friend of ours does contract flooring and one of his customers has just gone down leaving him over £7000 short - he is now just one of the creditors who may get some money back in time. I think a lot of people will end up in the same position with things the way they are now. It's a big worry. I am also constantly juggling the money around. I always wished DH was in regular employment and not self-employed, but now I'm not so sure. Regular jobs are vulnerable, too, right now. At least DH has quite a few private jobs lined up and he always takes deposits and staged payments as the work progresses so if anything goes wrong he won't be too much out of pocket. I don't think anyone's safe at the moment, no matter what they do.

Well, I'd better go and clear up the breakfast things then get going on the rest of the chores. Don't know what dinner will be until I've been shopping - the freezer is empty of meat because we've eaten it all. It's half full with HM soups though and I shall be adding to it over the weekend.

See you all later and (((hugs))) to all who are poorly today.
