i've been a customer for over 9 years continuous at my current address and i hardly ever get any offers to stay, despite threatening to leave.
maybe i get the bad operators, the one's that tell me they don't owe me anything, even if i've been with them for 9 years, as they provide a service for the price i pay !!0 -
Yes i did have 2 sky accounts at the same time, i signed up for HD in my name with a new account before the old account was cancelled , then the wife cancelled the old account on the same day afterwards which was in here name and gave 30 days notice, the new system was installed 14 days later, so i was paying for 2 accounts for 14 days and both viewing cards were active as we used the old one upstairs before it got turned off.
An if we are trading links, this one shows that people do have 2 accounts at the same address

As my husband said you can't have 2 permanent active Sky accounts, which you don't. You're wife's sky account was in a cancellation process. You must have got an incompetant sales advisor who was looking to meet their sales target/ receive commission, and supplied you with incorrect info. You also paid for a service twice that you didn't require, paying for an extra subscription for 14 days, when the transition could have been completed after the cancellation of your wife's account was complete.
Think we're on a moneysaving site :rotfl:
The people that have 2 accounts in the other forum, have lied by saying they have an 'annex' or separate property at the same address. Beats me why some want to pay double in subscription fees, when you can pay £10 extra per multiroom box. :think:2017 - no clutter to be seen challenge: 72/2017

i think what deanos is getting at, is his wife cancelled her account, after he had set up a new account at the same address, so at the time of him ordering the new account, sky where unaware that his wife was going to cancel her account, thus meaning that they would have had 2 accounts at the same address, was it not for his wife cancelling her account, DaveTake every day as it comes!!0 -

No, it seems deanos was trying to say that 2 accounts can be active at the same time - the accounts were being opened and closed at the same time i.e within 14 days of each other, this still shouldn't have happened. What I said a few pages back, was that 2 separate accounts (in same name or different names) cannot be active at the same address permanently. This info was given to me by a Sky employee so is factual.2017 - no clutter to be seen challenge: 72/2017

Thank you everyone, just got sky hd upgrade for £49 plus £10 installation and £5per month for the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you:beer: I threatened to cancel and then he offered me a pretty good broadband/telephone and hd package then when I checked we are in a LLU never area, ie sky (and lots of others) do not provide broadband in this area. I discovered this by logging on to http://www.dslzoneuk.net/checker.php? So rang them back and complained about a package that they should never have offered and so got an even better one!! hope this helps someone.0

I wish I'd seen this thread earlier, I ordered online tonight for £75 + £30 install although I have got £15 tracked on quidco and will get £15 back from Sky too.0

You could phone Sky to cancel this order and see if they offer you a better deal over the phone. Or just stick with the order you've put in for, which is quite good too.2017 - no clutter to be seen challenge: 72/2017

i see what u r saying, but deano quite clearly says that he ordered new sky account in morning at the same address as his wife, which was accepted, then later on in the day deanos wife then phoned up to cancel, so it seems sky where quite willing to accept accounts at the same address as how where they to know in the morning when the created the account in the morning for deano, that 6 hours or so later deanos wife would be ringing up to cancel her original account at the same addres, i know sky are good, but they are not quite that good, i am not saying the information your husband gave you is wrong, but obviously something went awry in this case, and if they have made this mistake once, then u can reasonably suppose they have done this before, DaveTake every day as it comes!!0 -

Thanks for your opinion and i appreciate it, however if the original account wasn't cancelled eventually, then deano would not have got his hd account. Its obvious to me that some operators at sky are incompetent and clearly don't know the rules/regulations or just don't care, all they are vying for is their bonus and targets to be met.
