You will receive a new 12 mnths warranty on the Hd box & sky+ will be out of warrant if this is what they told you, if you require an engineer after the 90 days are expired on the sky+ then you will need to pay the £65 for a engineer.
If you have a problem with the install within the first 90 days then sky are obliged to fix anything that is faulty for free on the sky+ & the Hd, the Hd will be in warranty for another year from the date it's installed, so any fault on the Hd will be free of charge.
Hope this answers your question. You can't be lost if you don't know where you're going.0 -
I have tried to get this offer last night and this morning without success. I explained that I was considering leaving and getting a FreeSat HD box.
Last night I was offered a worse deal than doing it online and this morning I was told that it would be about £70. He wouldn't talk to me as I was not the account holder.
So, now I am going to have to get my wife to call up over the weekend.
What is the best way to try and get the offer? Any good hints or tips? My wife does not like haggling either.
Thanks.0 -

I genuinely did this b4 reading here about this and was going from virgin to sky and each were offering me a better deal, that was a year ago and now prices are back up so think they need a phonecall would love a sky plus box!0

If you have a look behind the new box you got fitted there should be a cable going into output 1 or 2 which goes to the tv in your spare room, there will be a little 9volt battery going into the rear of your spare tv which should have a red light lit up on it.
If this doesn't work then the RF outlets on the main box is switched off.
To switch them on you will need to press the services button on the remote control, then press number 4. The menu will be 1-8, please disregard the menu & press number 0 on the remote, then number 1 then the select
button, this will take you to a install menu. Scroll down to Rf outlets & press select, then scroll down & turn to on, then save new settings.
After you have done this if you go to your spare tv & turn the channel over with your remote control.
Hope this helps.You can't be lost if you don't know where you're going.0 -
Just plucked up the courage to phone Sky, and tell them i wanted to cancel, and was offered the Sky+HD box for £49, plus £20 for the installation charge. Took my time taking up the offer with a bit of small talk, and was then offered £10 installation charge, plus £5 for the first six months for the HD mix, and I also said my Sky+ box stutters sometimes when watching recorded programmes, so they are going to refurb my sky+box and fit it into my son's room for nothing(already have the multiroom subscription)!!!!!!!!!!! :T :j :j :j :j ......
Many thanks to the OP for this one :A0 -
When you get your boxes check for lip sync problems on the HD channels as there are major problems at the moment.0

Thats a cracking deal that you were offered, just watch out when you get the reconditioned sky+ box as they have real probs with their hard drive on recordings & playback(speach out of sync & volume on playback is low). You can't be lost if you don't know where you're going.0 -
Hi, is anyone waiting for the sky hd box that can record in HD? I've heard it should be out by Christmas - Curry's weren't really sure, although they did know one was coming.2019 Wins: personalised bottle of gin, gin hamper, bag, solar lights, smellies, two teddies, book bundle, meal for two, teapot, unicorn dream catcher, box of ale, tickets to Newton Faulkner, family swim pass
Total wins for 2009: £883.22
Total wins for 2010: £2249.500 -
So most people will have seen the current offer from sky...

This is for new and existing customers. So if you wanted to take up this offer you might pay £75 for the box, £30 install total=£105. You then have to sign up to HD Mix which gives you the HD channels (£10 per month).
So I am an existing customer of Sky+. I pay £21 a month for 5 mixes and thats it. Im happy with that. So then i think about upgrading to HD. I phone up and Im offered the above deal plus £15 credit. So that will take my package to £31 a month (HD Mix £10). Im also interested in the full sky movies package which will take my package to a total of £47. I also ask if i can cancel movies at anytime which I will do if i don't feel i am getting the most out of it, this is no problem. I put the phone down and tell them I'll come back to them.
I then realise Im out of contract, so I called the cancellations department and tell them Im thinking of swapping to FreeSat so i can get a couple of free HD Channels.
And then..... The very helpful sky guy offers me...
A new Sky+ HD box and installation for £49 quid!!!!!! (Normally £105) I ummm and arrrggh a bit, and he then offers me the HD mix (£10 a month) for a deep sea diver (a fiver)!!!! For six months then it goes back to £10 a month thereafter. They don't offer this anywhere!!!
So had i just upgraded I would have paid £105 for the HD box and installation. £10 a month for HD Mix, £120 a year. And £37 per month, £444 annually for 5 Mixes and all movies. TOTAL £669.00
But by threatening to cancel i have paid for the year... £49 for the box and installation. £5 for HD Mix (£5 for 6 months £10 thereafter) £90. £444 for my TV package. TOTAL £583.00
So a total saving of £83.00. I have the new box coming 6 days later and it only cost £49 installed. Much better than their current deal of £105.
If you are interested in upgrading, don't! Enquire about canceling and see what they offer. It worked for me.
Good luck.
slightly off topic, but do you mind if I ask you what your original 5 mixes were? Thanks.0
