  • Bad news.

They went down owing £150k, most of which is to DHL (no wonder they want to rationalise the resellers market). The chances of getting anything back are very remote. The adminstators are Bulley Davey in Peterborough.

Complete contrast from what I was lead to believe from speaking to PPWs financial controller.

    *sighs*

for the love of god, do not use pre paid vouchers and do not use any of the companies listed in the avoid section of the first post.
  • So it seems Shafi's hard ball with DHL failed. Whether they have gone as spectacularly as payperdrop who knows, but it seems parceltree are no more.

Oh no I hear you cry how can send my parcels via that fine gentleman Shifty Shafi well worry no more, the are using a FedEx domestic service through one of their other companies http://www.wigidispatch.co.uk/.

For those who are new they are not on the first page list for reason.

Just checked his site and he's advertising DHL services again? Surely he hasn't got rates from DHL again?
  • Set up a new account under someone else's name?? Only rates resller rates available now are probably around £8. Possibly be using p4d's; knowing shafis running out of options they offered a inflated rate??

On HDUK forums there is a few tales of woe after using wigi.
  • Just typed "parcel delivery" in HDUK forum and got this post http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/268101/reliable-courier-service-from-6-99-/

I'm sorry but that's shafi for sure....answer mails promptly??? What a load on b*llo*ks
  • Yeh I saw that the other day, at the bottom there is a link to one problem. Don't think it's shafi him self because he's pretty much illiterate, but certainly someone connected.

....probably claire12 and her family of three.

No surprise they stopped using fedex, as I mentioned on the previous post their u.k operation needs a lot of work.

I'm just curious. Do resellers make their money these days? Any opinions or thoughts?
  • I am in New York at the moment and wand to ship a package weighing 12kgs back to London ro Dublin.

Does anyone know of any cheap companies in the US that do this?
  • Hi folks nice and informative thread (or three).:D

Who would be the best bet for sending a 32" LCD TV in the UK, does anybody offer a fully insured (£300) service and what would the rough cost be.

    tia.

I could but choose not too. I run my own transport business, one man band and have been offered a contact by DHL, home & economy service for £4.31 per parcel exc vat. Could make money but too much competition from fly by night ltd.

Shafi's not making much at the moment. ;)

With the rate they come and go, I can only say no. However there are certainly exceptions. With many people happy to pay £8-£9 a parcel there is plenty of money to be made there for the likes of interparcel and p2go they're surely quids in. For the sub account'ers- sale track, ship manager and freightsearch likewise. For under the wire parceforce resellers I expect there's a fairly quick and easy buck to be made there. For everyone else it seems pretty difficult...just look at the level of insolvencies!

Even though it has thinned out in the last few months. The market is flooded, by the genuine and the here today gone tomorrow. Seems a nightmare industry. I'd be surprised if DHL were still willing to give out those rates, the only way to get them is to aim for the business sector and set up sub accounts and then you'll probably get sub £4.
