So it seems Shafi's hard ball with DHL failed. Whether they have gone as spectacularly as payperdrop who knows, but it seems parceltree are no more.
Oh no I hear you cry how can send my parcels via that fine gentleman Shifty Shafi well worry no more, the are using a FedEx domestic service through one of their other companies http://www.wigidispatch.co.uk/.
For those who are new they are not on the first page list for reason.0 -

The writing was always on the cards for that outfit. Hopefully they shut up shop before taking bookings/payments that they could not process (unlike PPW and payperdrop).I hope I never get so old I get religious...... Ingmar Bergman0 -

I expect I know what your thinking on DPD, but we're using them for USA etc. and they're fine.
http://www.parcelbroker.co.uk (£6.64 with free 5% discount for registering)
Who I use now and have stuck by them as they respond to mails very quick and have a phone number which I have used a couple of times and get an answer or a callback quickly (0870 number) BUT I have the landline number here: 01371 851742. They do bigger stuff like freight to europe and pallets too which is handy for me.
No affiliation but I think they deserve a mention as they are still offering overnight with DHL at £6.64...this price is Plus vat though which may affect those of us not registered, total per parcel is £7.80 inc.:beer:0 -
What are freightsearch like for late bookings (and in general)? I wanna book something after 1pm to try and get someone turning up in the afternoon, but don't wanna leave it too late0

with any courier, the later you leave the booking then they more likely it is you will get a failed delivery
eg if you book at 1pm and the driver has already 'done' your area its more work to come back to you
it may work out fine but be aware of the risks0 -
As custardy said. All I'd add is that they are automated with DHL so once it's booked it's out of their hands.0

Is there no cheaper shipping from the USA than £26?
I'm looking for a price between the USPS's £8 flat rate envelope and their £26 flat rate box. The box is only good for large orders and risks customs duty. The envelope you can hardly fit anything in.0 -
No idea from the US.
There is a FedEx U.K to US service for £25 up to 25kg. Don't know if it's reversible though.0 -
hmmm... does the same apply with everyone then? I assumed if you booked same day you'd get it, and booking later just meant they were more likely to turn up later, but i guess 5pm is just the time my dhl guy collects around here (althoug i've seen him in the area delivering in the morning). anyway.... at 11.38 i thought better of trying dpd (11.30 cutoff
) so used frightsearch and hope they turn up. it's the first time i'll have booked to collect from someone elses house and deliver here too. hope it goes well...
