  • on that occasion PF did redeliver, but one parcel was described as looking like it had been drop kicked a number of times, and the other ended up with a big dink in it which reached the DVD player inside.

ever since that experience i have been even more over the top with bubblewrap and polystyrene. plus i have cut down on the fragile tape to avoid the temptation of someone bending it like beckham !

Yes never put fragile on them.. i know drivers and they say some test the theory:eek:
all parcels have to go on a conveyor belt and go through a short drop unless your driver personally weighs them.. mine did luckily
he once collected a 6ft solid oak fire surround , personally weighed it
lol was supposed to be business post who collected but my driver took it with the other dhl as i was out.. cost me £5.99 and managed to get my £35 back off business post.. result! was delivered perfect too:T

those was the good ole days
  • hello again
i am happy to say that all 5 parcels have been collected so thats one headache gone
  • yes, my fragile tape only gets used sparingly now ie 1 use of the word fragile so not too much of a dare to kick said item !

  • do people just not read my posts ?? i don't think anyones ever responded to anything in them !!??

    anyway, enough of my insecurities...

can anyone advise as to whether i would need to book the day before through parcelcheap/PF in order to guarantee labels ?

I asked the Parcelforce driver about this when he collected my parcels. Labels are printed off at the depot when the booking is received. So if the driver is already out on collections when the booking arrives he won't have labels & will put them on back at the depot. You can still request a receipt even if the driver doesn't have labels. If the booking is made before the driver starts his collections in the morning he will bring labels. Regardless of this I always write the delivery & return address on the parcel.
  • thanks, i thought that may be the case

if i can then i will continue putting my own labels on as well

  • Hi All,

Like most of you i was using PPW for the last few months with no problems at all.. Untill recently.

I tried to use PayPerParcel yesterday and no courier showed up to pick up the parcel! I have been trying to call them since 9am and all i keep getting is the BT answer phone telling me they are on the phone I have tried at least 40 times! I have not had any email from them either.
I have sent a parcel to France with them before with no problems.. Can anyone recommend a good company? I need one that gives tracking numbers etc

    Thanks

Hi, we start using PayPerParcel recently as PPW and Parceltree stop accepting booking. So I have some experience with them. If you see the courier reference number in MY SHIPMENTs, that means the parcel has been booked via DHL successfully. You can call your local DHL depot, that should be much helpful than calling them. Alternatively you can contact them bu using Conract Page on their website. Personaly I think they will response you very quickly.
  • watsonnicole, i posted the following message earlier in the thread & it will help answer your question now. What has happened to you is very common, it's not necessarily the agent but DHL who's at fault. My advice is avoid DHL if possible, I use Parcelforce now & the service/reliability is much better.

If you book with a DHL agent you don't generally get a tracking number. Without this DHL customer service won't help you. DHL don't like giving out local depot numbers unless your collecting a parcel. From another thread here is a link for DHL depot phone numbers http://tkpeters.co.uk/dhl.htm. These numbers are useful if you want to find out the reason for a failed collection or if you want to check DHL have your booking. In the past when I used DHL some bookings didn't make it to the depots & seem to get lost in the system. Your then left waiting in all day for a collection that doesn't exist. To avoid this phone your local depot a few hours after you've made the booking & double check. Having to chase up DHL is frustrating but it’s better than waiting & wondering if your booking has made it.
Parcelforce give you a tracking number straight away & advertise depot numbers on their website. This is important because I’m no longer left wondering if a booking has been successful. It just makes sending parcels less stressful. I’ve had Ebay customers leave negative feedback thanks to DHL, it’s the last thing you need when trying to run a business.
