Slight update, they emailed me this morning saying refunds would be processed by the 5th. Because of the change of ownership, they have to get permission for each refund on a individual basis.

Please don't shoot the messenger. But I do know what it's like having still waiting for the £180 odd we're owed from PPW.

hi all. Is there any way I can complain to DHL? I ordered a phone from O2 on Xmas eve... order got sent out to DHL promptly, in time for delivery on the next working day which was Monday 29th. As of today item has not been delivered. Apparently driver took it back to the depot as he ended his shift ??? Now i am told it wont be delivered until Friday. ??? Who can I complain to and will it do any good?
  • Got a reply from FreightSearch - what a cop out!! Happy to take the money and leave customers waiting in for collection that's never going to take place. Why does the courier reseller "industry" attract so many rogues!

    "Hi there,

Sorry you didn’t receive the e-mail that was supposed to be sent out to everyone. It reads as follows:

‘We have just been informed by DHL that any bookings that are made after 2pm on the 29th of December will be collected on January 2nd 2009. We apologise for any inconvenience caused as a result of this and will happily refund you if you would like to cancel any of your bookings.

Happy New Year from The FreightSearch Team‘

I apologise that you didn’t receive the e-mail.
    Kind regards"

How come you are getting emails?
i have sent them several over the past week & not had one reply. it's a very unfair all their customers should be receiving emails with some kind of explanation then we would not all be thinking the worst of them.
its bad customer service, bad managment!
i hope you get your £180 as i hope i do my money & everyone else theirs.
but the parcel thats been left in the USA is my biggest worry!

Also does anyone know of anywhere i can send my parcel to Japan for around £40 its 8kgs many thanks
  • The fall of Direct Parcel Distribution was very predictable & I did say that they shouldn't have been given so much exposure. They have been very amateur from the start. To say they are having a change of ownership is just a bad excuse. Either their courier contracts have been ended or their prices have been dramatically increased. It's no surprise they have refunded ArmitageShanks straight away, they obviously want to keep him sweet. My advice is start a paypal claim straight away or contact your credit card company. Don't expect a refund!

I think Freightsearch will go the same way so be careful. At the moment all legitimate DHL resellers should be getting charged the same price for UK deliveries. So for Freightsearch to be offering a price that is well below the average is very suspect. Also the insurance they offer is not valid. I've been trying to process a loss claim with them for the last 2 months without any luck. They have ignored emails regarding this claim. This is not the action of an honest, professional company. As Freightsearch don't accept payments via Paypal there is no security so if they do go under you will loose money. I urge ArmitageShanks not to give them so much praise as it may end in disappointment again.

Still think its about time Parcel 2 Go is added to the list, they have been on the go for a few years and no sign of going bust.

Seems very silly there are not on there, just to give people a little more choice.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Anyone got an idea cost much an item will cost to post (UK), sizes are;

    H 95cm
    W 80cm
    D 45cm
    Approx 15kg max.

I've also another smaller item to send, under 15kg, would it be better to combine the two, sent to same address??

thats exactly what i did this morning i checked my email...nothing! i then went straight to paypal & sent a claim, lets see what happens...........so far nothing but it has been new year!
  • Stephen, I very much doubt freightsearch will be going anywhere, for starters look at their website a) it's probably the best/quickest booking system out of them all b) I imagine it must of cost a hell of a lot to develop- not really the hall marks of a fly by night opperation is it. Also the fact they do not do pre-paid vouchers, limits the risk exposure to consumer.

I've said my peice on DPD on a previous post. But anyway, regardless of what you say about DPD, they offered USA/Canada for £26 (25kg) for 3 months. For small business that is too good to turn down, don't get me wrong I was incredibly scepticle about using them but it's a balancing act, what can you do.

Again, advising people to go to paypal is fruitless, there is no protection for services.

As for keeping me sweet, why would the out going owner care? I've already made it clear that if everyone is not refunded they will be going on the avoid list. Oh, and as for refunding me straight away, the booking was for the 22nd...refunded on Monday just.

As for everyone having the same prices from DHL I think in the last month it has become crystal clear this is not the case. interparcel and p2go must have a good margin on everyone else. Probably p4d, payperparcel get the same, and everyone else mainly leaches of everyone else.
How come you are getting emails?
Becasue I emailed them last night, imploring them to refund everyone, and that if they don't they will be on the avoid list.

I haven't worked out the volume but I think that will have to be a TNT service. Try interparcel and their TITAN service.
