Anyone got an idea cost much an item will cost to post (UK), sizes are;
H 95cm
W 80cm
D 45cm
Approx 15kg max.
I've also another smaller item to send, under 15kg, would it be better to combine the two, sent to same address??
Lynsey
This is the cheapest I've found so far, can it be beaten and any reviews??

I have read in this thread that Smartparcel are to be avoided due to an apparant connection to Parceltree! However, doing my own search for larger item services I found this :
http://www.ccl-logistics.com/ecomm/c-1-uk-parcels.aspx
My mainland uk quote was for just under £15 plus VAT with Citylink next day before 3pm. This is for under 30kg.
I am looking for over 30kg myself and the best I can come up with is £35 on ebay.0 -
I have found payperparcel very reliable & extremely helpful either on the phone or via email, i have found them to have excellent customer service.
i have been using them for all my uk shipping for a few months now, your account is hooked up to your ebay account so you dont have to fill in names & addresses you just add the item number then all details are filled in for you, you can save your address for collections. i realy like the site & the service payperparcel provide!
Unfortunatly they only send uk, come on you guys start sending worldwide!
you can send upto 31.6kg dimentions 60x50x50cm from £7.99
bigger dimentions prices vary
hope this information prooves helpful!

Don't forget Freightsearch are a relatively new company who have only become popular since the recent DHL price rise. After the price rise they became the cheapest DHL reseller. This is suspicious as they shouldn't be able to compete with the big boys on price. Let me remind you PPWexpress had a good website before they suddenly went under.
At the moment i'm £100 out of pocket because Freightsearch will not payout for a lost parcel. They also choose to ignore my emails regarding this claim. Why would they do this if they’re legitimate? I’m concerned because Freighsearch are promoted as the company to use if you want extra insurance. In my opinion they are no different to PPWexpress or Direct Parcel distribution and it's just a matter of time. As Freightsearch only accepts direct credit card payment the customer is at high risk. Do you really feel safe giving this company your credit card details considering how little you know about them?
Direct Parcel distribution may have offered a great price on International deliveries however it was unrealistic & therefore unhelpful for a business long term. There is no excuse for their recent actions, they should have refunded all customers straight away! I urge all customer who have been let down by Direct Parcel distribution to start a Paypal claim straight away. If your parcel was not collected then it's more than likely the dispute will be decided in your favour even if you have paid for a service.0 -

Also, not quite sure why one courier agent would making a claim from another. (that's a hint by the way).
On ppw's website the booking was quick, but it had some major flaws. For one, no postcode checker; so you could send to NI on home48.therefore unhelpful for a business long term.
One important point you're forgetting, this thread is 'courier cost cutting'. If everyone just switched to p2go and interparcel what prices do you think we'd be seeing? The market has to open and competitive for the sake of the consumer. I know the thought of smaller competitors scares you and the fact by offering something different/appealing to the consumer they are given a platform here, but as I've said before this thread isn't the place for whinging managers/MDs to come on. Although it is a first that one of the so called 'bigger'ish boys' has felt the need to post on here.0 -

To advise people not to use Paypal is reckless. Despite what you may think if the dispute is decided in your favour you will be refunded. The only scenario where this may not be the case is
1) When the seller has no funds in the Paypal account at time the dispute is started
2) when the seller has cancelled the bank account registered with Paypal
This is why I urge people to start a Paypal claim straight away before the seller has a chance to do this. Remember it usually takes 5-7 working days to withdraw funds from a Paypal account into a bank account. If the seller receives enough claims before the withdraw is complete Paypal will reverse it so the seller can’t run off with your money.ArmitageShanks wrote: »...Also, not quite sure why one courier agent would making a claim from another. To make comments like this is unhelpful. Freightsearch offer insurance that’s not valid, because of this I’ve lost £100. I’m trying to advise people based on my own experience so they also don’t lose money as well. What happens if someone takes out extra insurance with Frieghtsearch, for £1000, because of your recommendation. If DHL lose the parcel the customer will then lose £1000. You should take this seriously because you have a responsibility to give helpful advice.ArmitageShanks wrote: »...How can you substantiate that. Extra business is extra business, and especially if it's ebay related sustainability (although it would be nice) it is not a prerequisite by any means. None the less a great generalisation.
My opinion is when your running a business you should look at the long term. If your paying unrealistic prices for worldwide delivery this is not going to help you long term. Short term it’s great because you make extra cash by targeting a new international market but long term you will be “left in the lurch with no viable delivery service” which may result in damage to your reputation. Start off paying realistic delivery prices with a realistic profit margin & you will be able to maintain international sales long term without being left in the lurch.ArmitageShanks wrote: »...One important point you're forgetting, this thread is 'courier cost cutting'. It’s hypercritical really because on one hand your saying that we need a open market to keep the costs down & on the other your blaming the likes of PPWexpress & other rogue resellers for the £9+ prices we’re paying now. Lets not forget you recommended two rogues, PPWexpress & Direct Parcel distribution, who went under with people’s money. You’re now recommending another rogue reseller, Freightsearch, who are offering invalid insurance.
There are enough legitimate resellers to keep the market open and competitive without having to take risks. As a general rule they will accept Paypal as a payment method. At the moment you’re hardly recommending any of these resellers even though they have low prices & good reputations. Apart from Freightsearch your actually recommending companies that are charging more than the big fish so how’s that going to benefit the consumer.0 -
Are FreightSearch reliable?
I need to send an item and used PayPerParcel last time which went smooth but they have upped their prices.
Thanks.0
