LongTermLurker wrote: »Thanks for sharing that Wrighty. Of course there's some standardised politeness in there, but actually, I think that's quite a good response - there's nothing condescending about it or "thank you for your letter, we'll look into it..." - they've said it's been passed to the service centre (good) and to senior management. Result
I hope it helps Lurker...and cheers to you too :beer:0 -
This card is a shambles.
I had one of the previous ones from MBNA which ran OK.
My wife and I took one of these each , and it has been continuous trouble .
Getting them started, getting the intro points, and then getting the monthly points have all required endless chasiing. I have recently spent nearly 2 weeks trying to get my Nov points.

I am cancelling my account due the dismal online portal and terrible customer service. To cut a long story short the online account portal had payments removed due to "issues" so unless you pay by direct debit the only way to pay was via convoluted phone call. I also missed a payment (I was £1.23 DR!!!) and whenever I tried to log into the portal to pay I got a message saying I needed to phone customer services. I did this THREE times, password resets, pin resets, confused call centre staff etc etc. This was until I phoned the 4th time and got put through to someone in customer services that said if you miss a payment you cannot log into your account without phoning them and clearing your balance!!!! I explained that's what I was trying to do!!!
When MBNA ran this card things were great. Barclaycard are a shambles... Goodbye :beer:0 -
I too applied for the card and used it in May 2007. The 20000 bonus did not appear so I emailed them several time from the Visa card webpage, but there was never any reply. Eventually wrote to them, cc'ing Priority Club, and the points were added (6 months late). Never had a word of explanation from them (or even a reply)!0

Just to let all of the above posters know that I FINALLY got my 10,000 Bonus Points. After many weeks of trying to get a result I wrote directly to IHG and made it very clear I was about to "pull the plug" on all my Holiday Inn/Priority Club activity/loyalty. They didn't reply to that letter ? but within a week I got my 10,000 Bonus Points! Apart from a few "hiccups" with my normal monthly Priority Club points - they now seem to have gotten their "act" together. However, customers such as we shouldn't have to go to such lengths to obtain what was originally promised by such a "prestigeous" company as IHG - and for that matter Barclaycard. All's well that ends well. I think!?:rotfl:0

Hi All,
I have had the same problem with these people, Priority Club claimed its Barclays & Barclays claimed it was Priority Club. I signed up for the 20k points & they only gave me 10k, after about 2 months of arguing and waiting I finally got my other 10k + 3k to say sorry, so keep pushing!
I am also going to be cancelling the card, as it has very inflexible rules, for example:
You can only pay by debit card twice within 30days, so if your dates get muddled up & you pay a bit early, you are screwed for the next month or if like me you normally pay your credit card out of 2 accounts, then you are left unable to pay the next month, unless you send a cheque or go to the bank? Anyone would think they don't want you to pay!
Also their foreign exchange fee is terrible, was charged £10 for a £150 transaction!!
The points wind me up too, so I shall be cancelling it once I have cleared this months balance.

I had exactly the same situation and it took me several months to retrieve them - contacting india etc. Ended by being called at 6-00pm on a friday for an all out slagging match with a manager, initiated by her and completely no holds barred.
Used the points and cancelled the card. Have been sent another offer of a card via email and logged in and applied. Havent had a reply.
I suggest people copy and paste comments such as these and insert in all correspondance with the company.
Good luck0 -
I applied for it a couple of months ago, to get 20000 points, and it has been as smooth as a dream, and they added it to my already active account with Holiday Inn, so no complaints from me.0

Looks like they haven't sorted themselves out yet. I was reading this before applying but went for it anyway, and suprise suprise only got 10,000 points instead of the offer of 25,000 :rolleyes:0

I also made the mistake of trying to claim 20,000 points promised in their promotion. After a lot of phone calls and e-mails to them, I finally got 10,000 points. I am still trying to get the other 10,000 they advertised way back in July 2007. Communicating with this company is a nightmare. Their notion of customer service is woeful, playing you off between the hotel chain's Priority Cub points administration and the Priority Club credit card people. I have stopped using the credit card and won't do so until they honour their promise.
Blimey - this website must have magic powers. Just a day after posting this message, I have been contacted by phone and told that the full 20,000 points have now been credited to my Priority Rewards account.0
