Priority Club helpdesk don't have any real powers and are predominantly staffed by people in India, with a few in Salt Lake, US, so don't have any understanding of the UK scheme. The best thing to do is to contact IHG Guest relations, which will go through to their UK office. They typically have a 72 hour deadline to get a resolution and can credit the points for you and bill it to Barclays.

If you're staying in hotels make sure you also sign up for the Stay two nights, get 25,000 points as this is a good way to boost your points too - as most UK reward nights cost 15,000 points it's almost two free nights for the price of two!
  • Than ks for that, I have beend ealing with IHG Guest relations since August and all I get is messages telling me it will take a little more time. I have just e-mailed again amd asked for an explanation as to how it can take 5 months so far for the points to appear and why I should have confidence in any of their brands if they can't manages this task.

  • I'm having similar problems.

I got 10000 points on my credit card statement in June instead of the promised 20000.

On 19th of October I had the 10000 points credited to my IHG account but I am having no joy about the missing 10000. I have contacted both Barclaycard & IHG customer services who keep on referring me back to Barclaycard. Barclaycard just tell me to wait!

    I'll keep on trying!
  • Just received this from IHG.

    Dear Ms. Chapman,
We apologize for any inconvenience this unfortunate situation has caused you.
We would like to inform you that Barclays had awarded the initial 10,000 points on your aco!!!! on 14 October 2008. Nonetheless, we are are currently working with them to credit the full bonus points to be awarded on your account at the soonest possible time.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation regarding this matter. Should you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Attached is the link to our Service Centers' phone numbers page: http://www.priorityclub.com/contactus.

I am glad I am not alone in having problems getting my so-called bonus points! I too was awarded 10,000 bonus points back in July when I first used my new credit card. These points have never materialised on my Priority Card Points account. Despite numerous calls and emails to their "Customer Services" I have been unable to resolve this problem. At the very least it DOES reflect very badly on Holiday Inn. At the very worst there is something very fishy going on here. Can anyone suggest how I can WRITE to these organsiations (and provide an address) rather than just waste my time talking to people who quite frankly don't have a clue what I am talking about. It's really a disgrace. Hope someone can help. Ryan
  • Hi Ryan

  • Have replied to your PM Ryan - pretty much same as Lynne.

And yes, as you say, it reflects badly on IHG/Priority Club brand - use that to your advantage when contacting them, but be polite and say you like the brand but feel it's going downhill because of this. Also be specific about how and when you have tried to contact IHG and PCVisa in the past to show that you've been waiting a long time.
You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...

Thanks for all the above advice. I did use the emailing facility to contact IHG. Alas, I received a reply stating that the matter was "still under investigation"! They also suggested I should contact Braclaycard again. I really do "smell a rat" in all of this. In fact I note that Barclaycard are also very slow to award points when I have used my card for normal shopping. The 10,000 bounus points I was promised - well, it's no longer the points that concern me. It's the principle that truly concerns me. Does anyone know if IHG Customer Relations has a POSTAL address here in the UK/Europe where I can send a registered letter? I think the emailing format is an excuse to "fob off" people like oursleves. I am simply amazed at how poor their customer relations are. One side basically "passing the buck" to the other!. Thanks. Ryan
  • I have had the same problem, the service is terrible. I also applied for the Visa about 4-5 months ago and used it straight away. I have had no points added to my account and after calling today to try and sort it out have decided to cancel my account due to poor service. I think it is ridiculous, they are quick enough to process your application but don’t seem to be able to allocate the points or at least inform you that there is a problem and they will eventually be added.
