    Hi :o)

Been AWOL for a few days due to life being so hectic and then me collapsing in a heap!! Last night I cooked a cottage pie, sweet potato broth and pineapple cake  The broth is for lunches at work cos I felt like I needed something more substantial than a salad. In between cooking last night I managed to run around with the hoover. I REALLY have been craving a fag but am still resisting :T

I managed to watch the end of It Pays to Watch and it reminded me that I need to change my current account and gas & electric so that's going on the to do list for this weekend :money: I too am watching Super Nanny and it's a tad scary that in a few years time mine could be like that!!!

Anyway I hope everyone's had a good day (haven't read thread :o) and sending (((HUGS))) to all those who want/need them xxxxx

GGGGGGRRRRRRR - will someone please hit me over the head next week and remind me to watch "our" programme. i don't watch much telly so it's not on much.

the good news is that dgs(3) learned a new song at school today ..... the bad news is that he only knows the first two lines. I phoned up teaching assistant sis-in-law and made her sing "wind the bobbin up" to me so I could put dd out of her misery
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Hi Everyone
Back on line with dial up again, so you will have to suffer me rambling or M-ing again.
After a bit of a dodgy start weather wise, we are now back to blue skies, sun, and 20+ degrees, but I will not mention it again as it is so carp back with you.
    DS&GF enjoying themselves chilling mainly.
Seems many of you are in or have been in the wars since I have been MIA. (((hugs))) to you all.
The TV provider we had has been closed down due to tax evasion, so no UK TV without shelling out loads of Euros, and then no confidence they are any stable, so managing without. Apart from the news, and Strictly then no real problem. So maybe a Strictly summary on here would be good.
    Be back soon. DG

JackieO Whats Woolton Pie and Snoek

Disgusting food that we had to eat during the war.Snoek was tinned South African fish that tasted like a fishy inner tube of a bicycle, and Woolton pie was basically a vegatable pie made with any veggies available plus oats and marmite and tasted revolting:eek: I think it was named after Lord Woolton who was Minister of Food during W.W.2.I bet he never ate it though

Dinner tonight was significantly less than successful. Dear heart was reduced to getting a burger from a takeaway. He has now gone to bed.

We have a slightly unconventional arrangement in that I sleep in a separate room with the baby monitor. Little bear still wakes in the night occasionally (very occasionally :D) and has some early starts. Thus dear heart does not sleep with the baby monitor and gets a restful night's sleep so that he can go to w*rk refreshed. During weekends and holidays he returns the favour, which is blissful. (I should like to add that this has had a minimal effect on our cuddles and passion - he is still the sexiest man for me! :o) So tonight he is sleeping in a quiet room. I am waiting for the people behind us to stop knocking lumps out of their wall next to where I shall be sleeping. I may be even more tired tomorrow.

Little bear was not interested at all in food this evening (which was perhaps a blessing) and fell asleep uneventfully.

Today has been something of a disappointment regarding OS but there is always tomorrow.

    Hugs to all.

Marie hope he is home tomorrow, why cant he have much spinach, broccoli, cabbage or garlic, all things that are supposedly good for us?

These foods have high amounts of Vitamin K in them which effects the Warfarin and thickens up your blood if you eat alot of them. So if you suffer with bloodclots, these are actually dangerous foods to eat. Ive been on Warfarin for over 3yrs and when I have eaten these foods even in small amounts, it has effected my INR levels.

Marie-I hope he feels better soon. Is he on Warfarin for life?

OH has just text to say they are on their way home and the meal/theatre was excellent.

Still feeling abit fed up, but Im ok.

    Hi guys,

A very unproductive today  Took the kids to school and then cleaned through, by the time I had finished Conwy furniture recycle arrived and took out the bits that we no longer needed and then I sat and waited, and waited, and took the old carpets to the tip with my sis and waited and they arrived at 2.30. by the time they were done all the kids were home and so I just hoovered through the rooms and gave up for the day. I am cream crackered anyway today so a fresh start with putting everything back tomorrow.

On the plus side I spent a quiet morning surfing, did an internet shop, and the carpets do look lovely. The old ones were thin with no underlay so should see a difference with the noise level and the feeling of warmth up there. The kids love them too. :T :T :T

Oh! I also witnessed my first ever raid today too    I heard a couple of loud thuds, breaking glass and then screaming. By the time I got to the window (yes I was being nosy :o ) there were police piling in the front door and down the side of the house - I've never seen so many police men and women in the same place!!!!! Later on a policeman with a dog arrived and shortly after the home owner was taken away in a police car. It was quite a shock to witness but even more so later when a relative/friend? arrived and then came out with the youngest (2-3?)who must have been present throughout . What a dreadful trauma for that child to go through.

Pen-pin, massive big gentle hugs to you, I hope you are feeling a little better this evening.

Meanmarie - good news about Ulick, shame about your plans though. Gentle hugs to you both.

Haribo -:hello: hope you are OK.

Betheebee - thanks for the advice, it sounds a lot better than Eric's trick. When tidying up the lounge I found a paintbrush nicely rusted in the middle of the leftover paint he had used :rotfl: :rotfl:

Gentle hugs to any one else in need or a large cold one, whichever helps.:D

    Have a good night all,

    Smoky. xxxxx
