Morning all, I've been awake since 3.45, lay there for an hour going through everything I need to do, once the brain starts working overtime I can't get back to sleep so got up and continued the books for Accountant, hate that job.

Plans today, loads of ironing, vacume, polish, clean bathrooms, cook dinner and packed lunches for DD2 and SiL 2b take it around when I walk their 2 Labs, shop at Lidle, take DH to Barbers as he's not allowed to drive for another 3 weeeks.

I hacked off some render on the cottage on Monday as a crack was causing water to seap into the stone, I have 13 builder's sand bags full, I offered them on freecycle and got a want from a man who needs hardcore for his drive. He's coming to collect tonight so that saves me loads of trips to the dump/recycle.

Haven't caught up on y/days posts so will have a read now, then get my butt into gear. Have a good day all.

morning. glad to hear some of the sick ones are getting better. hugs to those who are still poorly.

yesterday bought a new toaster (using nectar points only cost £7), sorted out our families finances moving money around to balance our risk. how did we manage before online banking. Sewed braid on DD's blazer as she has been made a prefect.
made a quiche last night which had good points and bad, filling was lovely but the pastry was very soggy  will try harder next time ;)
tonight, probably toad in the hole...or chinese marinaded pork chops. haven't made our mind up yet.

  • Hi all, chilly here today, have had the heating on for an hour for DH coming in off night shift as he was so cold yesterday morning. Didn't get a lot done in bathroom yesterday as had to fit in shopping, docs appointment etc and the day just slipped away. DH rang me from work last night to say he thinks his alternator is goosed on the campervan as all his lights went dim on the way to work and once switched off it wouldnt start again. Anyway this morning it started and got him home so today will be spent getting sorted with a new one!! (More expense CRINGE)
Tonight we are going to a remembrance service for DD's baby girl who she lost in June at 22 weeks, it is being held through the hospital and anyone who has lost a baby can go, they will read out her name and we will light a candle for her. This is going to be a strange month as she was due to come on 16th and i know we are all feeling it! The house is still full of stuff that was bought for her, even though its packed away it still a reminder when you open a cupboard. I asked DD2 if she wanted me to get rid of it but she said no as the baby had never got to use it so she would hang onto it for the future. Makes economic sense as there was a lot of money spent! In a way i think it has helped DD2 as she sorted through everything and put it away herself, it was something she wanted to do.
Had a lovely phonecall from DS1(30) yesterday he is a singer, and has worked all over the world, at the mo he is on Fred Olsen liner ,The Braemar, cruising the Med and in 1 month heads off to the Carribbean, lucky devil.
It's an 8 month contract so we will miss him not being at home for Christmas, but he is loving it!
Today i will do roast chicken dinner, and have my HM soup for lunch (yesterday i added garlic sausage to it and it was fab)
Washing is nearly dry on airer so i will see to that later.
I too watched Jamie Oliver last night and agree with MOLIERE there was no need for it!!
Looking into getting a REMOSKA for Christmas, and i just wondered if i should get a standard or the largest one, i am cooking daily for 4 adults and then 5 when DS1 comes home. Any tips from the Remoska fans on here greatly appreciated.
Have a good day all BSB XX

    Morning all

Celyn, have to agree with Whatawit, hope you don't have to keep getting up after all that bran :D

Work today, so steak, mushrooms and tomatoes in the Remoska for DH, and I will raid the freezer. Usually sandwiches for lunch, but think I might make some soup and take that as it is blowing a gale and pouring with rain :o

Off for a rummage in the freezer, if I don't post tomorrow, I may have fallen in :rotfl:

Edited to say, just read your post bootsalebabe, and hugs to you and all your family x

    Morning peeps

I`m just finishing a cuppa and considering emptying the wm and dw.

Think i may need another cuppa first though :D

First day back at work today so i need to get organised, i always seem to have lots to do.

Dinner tonight will be some of the stew that i made yesterday with hm bread and butter, the other pots in the fridge need labelling and freezing. I need to clear a space in the freezer if possible so i shall make that one of the first jobs as i`m likely to forget otherwise.

The weather is horrible, dull, windy raining and just miserable, wish i could just stay here and hibernate.

Celyn - Your posts made me laugh :D you seriously need some rest girl!

Meanmarie - Glad that you finally got to speak to someone and have everything explained to you. ((((HUGS)))) for you and Ulick

Whatatwit - ((((HUGS)))) for your MIL & FIL

I am now going to jump up and run around the house like a mad woman cleaning as i go

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
  • Morning all,

Not had a proper read through yet, as just killing 10 minutes before last of kids goes to school, so will catch up properly in a little while.

Sun is shining, though it was persisting down with rain when I got up! I have been bitten all over, on my ankle, knee, twice on my back and once by my ear on my neck. Have scratched myself to bleeding point. I wonder if the critter that did it started at my feet and worked his way up, or the other way round? Hmmmm.... anyway, have thrown covers off bed and tried to find the offending insect, but nothing to be seen

I have w**k later, but to be honest I love my jobs, so its not a dirty word in this house! I just didnt want to offend anyone elses sensitive ears.

Have a nice day, catch up with you all later
If I had a pound for every...... oh sod it, if I just had a pound I'd be richer!

  • Morning all,I did'nt realise it's October already.I love October I had my first daughter on 30th October and I always look back with such fond memories of this month all those years ago.
It's beautiful outside, still cold but it's sunny and dry and that'll do for me.
It was realy cold last night and is supposed to be going to be even colder tonight, but we'll see.
I went to bed with my pjs and fleecy bed socks on and was out like a light.Woke up with just my socks on but still can't remember taking the rest off so I must have slept well.
I did'nt go shopping to town yesterday as I had planned(weather was so disgusting)so I'm going to do that today.
Don't have anything planned for dinner this evening, will have a mooch in fridge and see what has to be used up as I'm not going to buy any shopping till after weekend.
Let's hope everyone has a good day.Hugs to all that need them and get well soon to all those feeling poorly.
    Take care everyone xxx.
