OS Daily Thread Wed 1st Oct (I think) :)

Hi, this is the OS Daily thread for the 30th September. It is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning everyone :) I think it's wednesday now - but in reality I had to check the day/date on my computer screen to make sure :embarasse :rotfl:

I am going seriously bug-eyed staring at this document now, I will be so glad when it's finished. Suprisingly I feel great though - even after eating all those branflakes. I must have gone through at least 200g of them dry. Still I guess it's better than chocolate. :o

I have been shifting box es of paper up and down two floors for the last hour so am quite tired. I will go home about 9.30 am as I have to wait for the store to open to get some paper and printer cartridges.

The postal survey people have started to send me good food magazine - which is great - although when I logged in it looks like I should be expecting "Optometry today" at some point  . Luckily there is a nice recipe for chicken with other stuff which looks like it could be done with minimal effort [strike]chucked in slow cooker whislt sleep walking[/strike] which solves the chicken problem and allows me some sleep.

Hope you all have a good day and hugs for those that need them :grouphug:

Good morning Celyn - hope you manage to get some quality sleep once you go home. I don't think I could handle working through the night like you do!

Well, I was MIA for the day yesterday due to DS2 and DIL's cat needing emergency treatment and care but, hopefully, that particular crisis is over because he seemed much better by teatime yesterday!

Today, I shall catch up with what didn't get done yesterday plus I am colllecting DGS from school this afternoon so that he can come and have dinner with us.

I can't tell what the weather is going to do today because it's still too dark - yesterday was dull and cool and I know we can't expect much in the way of warm and bright from now on!

(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Jayward, Candygirl's Dad, Essex-girl's Dad, Beth and her family, Pippa's DH and Mum, Meanmarie and Ulrick and everyone who is suffering or anxious at the moment.

    Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:

Dinner today is something made with the minced lamb I found lurking in the freezer - probably shepherd's pie or something. I've been running the freezer down because I want to do a big shop on Friday but first I need to do a proper meal plan so I need to get cracking on that.

Did anyone see Jamie Oliver last night? (I love watching him but how I wish he wouldn't swear quite so much!). It was a real eyeopener; it's hard to believe that someone could have a state-of-the-art cooker and the only way they can keep it clean is not to use it - ever! I wish him luck - despite his wealth and fame, he's a lovely chap with his heart well and truly in the right place.

Anyway, must go and have a wander so I'll see you later.

    KathyXX

Edited because I have just read the end of yesterday's thread.

    (((Hugs))) to your FIL, Whatatwit.

Smoky - it'll be worth it when it's all done!

    Welcome, Sampa!

Morning to you all, hope you have a good day

Busy searching for a pumpkin cake recipe with little/ no butter, amazing what you find to entertain you online ;)

Just had a snack of tinned sardines (yes, I am doing a use it up challenge, but they were actually quite good) couldn't be bothered to make the bread this morning so no toast

Oh and its 6pm here, so it wasn't breakfast!

Having a really good day today, a luxury bath (well that bubble bath was a present and needed using!) for about an hour :o and it hasn't got much more taxing than that. Have to love the holidays.

((HUGS)) to those who need them

    Hello everyone,

Just about to head off downstairs and do some gardening & let the chooks out for a peck. Had a busy morning doing housework this morning. Made a loaf of bread & a banana cake this arv. DGS arrived about 1.30pm and went for a walk to post a few letters. Before he came I decided to pick up my top and do a bit more sewing, I wish I hadn't  as I accidently clipped a bit on the front I wasn't suppose to. I've got more material so will have to cut out another front and unpick all that I've done. :D

The road is all boxed up in front of our place in readiness for tomorrow. ;) Finally got a phone call to say our lounge suite we ordered months ago has arrived. Probably on a slow boat from China. :D

Pinch & punch and all that. :p
    Smoky You've achieved so much.
Marie Hope Ulick recovers quickly. He's been very lucky.

Well better get going. Hope you all have a lovely day & <hugs> to those that need them. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning all
I feel incredibly perky today, probably because I saw my DS yesterday, he's my baby, 23 years old, nearly 6ft & so much like my dad it's spooky.
Hubby & I had a chat, he needs a lot of reassurance, he starts to panic that I'm going to throw him out when he's depressed. I explained that the reason I wasn't talking to him was cos he was biting my head off every time I opened my mouth. I'm going to suggest he starts painting the spare room in case we get a lodger, he may feel better if he's busy.
I best get ready to face another day at work, I am taking my crochet, but I'll lunch at my desk to avoid any trauma.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    SAMPA hi to you.
MARIE so glad they have found out what happened to Ulick, treatment sounds normal to me. Hopefully he'll be home soon.

HESTER hope you get some changes in your job soon.
CELYN please get some sleep, how long 'til your thesis has to be in?

Big hugs to anyone who needs one today.

Weather is grim today. OH has just gone off to work on his new ward. I have work at 1pm so I shall potter until then. Think I'll have a baked potatoe before I go.

    Off to have a shower.

    Have a good day all.

    Morning :hello:

I haven't looked outside yet but it sounds really windy  Typical, I have to go out on my bike today and I hate riding in the wind.

Don't forget, no more bags in Sainsbury's from today :D Well there are, but they're hoping you'll be too embarassed to ask for them. It'll save them a fortune but they still look good by not charging

Timmy Piggle is in isolation, he keeps trying to hump his brothers which they DO NOT like - yesterday he bit Boris on his back when he couldn't get his way and made him bleed. He's bitten Rambo's ears too. I'll ring the vet later and ask if castration will sort him out.

My lounge is now looking like the end of a playgroup session before clear-up time :D Card, paper, ribbon etc. EVERYWHERE so I'll clear it all up this afternoon, when I get back. Lots of cards made though, just hoping they sell now.

    Morning, :hello:

Celyn, I quite like the malty flavour of bran flakes, lets hope you don't feel the after effects of eating that much bran
Smoky, sounds like you have been busy
Mioliere, we have cancelled the search party :D
N9eav, how did OH's supply work go last week?

Have waved Mr Twit off to work, he's gone on his own today, instead of van sharing, just in case FIL takes a turn for the worse. He is poorly apart from the pneumonia, as he has advanced Alzheimers :( and he is such a lovely man. Thanks for all the hugs and thoughts :A

Work today, although if the rain is as forecast, we could be quiet, think I'll take some paperwork in to do.
Thnk I'll get some bacon out of the freezer for an easy tea, there's half a tray of eggs that need using and I can play with my poaching pods :D

Of well, best leap into the shower and I must remember to read my meters before work and log the readings onto the Eon site.

Love and hugs to all those in need....Candy's Dad, Beths OH, Ulick spring to mind, but there are plenty of hugs to go around.

Not seen Shez, Silvercharming, Aimee or Joannasmum for a while....hope you and the others who have not posted for a few days are ok
