Still nothing done.
I managed to coax little bear to eat most of a banana, despite that being one of little bear's favourite foods. However he is now finally getting a decent nap (probably just wearing a nappy) so hopefully soon I can convince him to try a nice bowl of soup.
Outside our house is a care being taken to pieces and a mobile tapas bar. When your next door neighbour is a former mechanic who still does stuff, at mate's rates, then you can expect a 'garage' feel. These two new additions are added to half a winnebago in pieces, a campervan of elderly vintage and a small towing caravan filled with 'you never know' as in, 'you never know, it might come in useful'. Sigh. Oh, and two non working, non taxed, non insured cars (unadopted road). Well, both of the 'cars' are large estates. Our little runabout can barely squeeze in.
Penny Pincher - I am so sorry you are having a bad time. I hope you feel better soon.
Meanmarie - I am so glad you are getting good news.
The local environmental health team are nagging at Mr Next Door, which is why there is half a winnebago in pieces. Originally it was a whole winnebago with burned out interior but Mr Next Door has cut it to pieces and sold half for scrap. Some more will be following and then (depending on who needs what doing to which vehicle) the camper van is next, I believe. It is quite interesting living in a scrapyard. I can't complain too much, however, without being a complete hypocrite because Mr Next Door fixed my darling father's car while we were on holiday and only charged the smallest amount. He has been lovely with dear heart's car as well. And he is so good with little bear, and he fed evil cat when we were away.
I have to add, evil cat is not evil to Mr Next Door which has raised my opinion of him considerably.
I need to do something soon, but I really don't feel like it. Sigh.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

Its been really sunny so far today managed to get 2 lines of washing almost dry, just put them in the TD for 20mins to finish off, then it can all go back to Mum and MIL's on Saturday.
Cant use airing cupboard just yet as OH has emulsioned it all and its still a bit damp. I cant wait to use it (sad or what)??? I can actually walk into it and have 4 L-shaped shelves, so loads of space for towels, sheets and ironing basket, ooo and all sorts of stuff that has'nt really got a home.
Henry (vac) is in there as well so are the small steps. It looks huge.
Celyn all that bran
Kathy I saw some of Jamie Oliver before we went out last night, I cant see the need for the language either, It is such a shame, because like a lot of others I enjoy the programme.

Afternoon Chums,
and I know its definitely Wednesday
Pottered about this morning, then went to the local shops to buy a hot water bottle .Last one I bought in 1974 cost 49p, today it cost £3.00 so that's going to seem me out I hope:D .I find that its my toes that get a bit chilly at night whilst sitting watching t.v. So I think a hottie will save me a few bob from putting on the CH. I have a soft cosy blanket over my knees, and a big pot of tea at my elbow. So far my heating is still not on.
Went into Mr T's and they had a big kilo bag of marrowfat dried peas for 47p so I snaffled that and will possibly make some thick gloopy pea & ham soup with them. I have a small ham hock in the freezer that I will bung in the SC .
I asked about boiling bacon in my local butchers, and he said its rarely about now, and that its usually gammon joints that come in from the supplier.Fair enough if you have a family, but a £6-7 joint would feed me for ever.
I may buy one at the end of the month and cut in half and freeeze half. I am still trying to run down my freezer so I can get it defrosted before Christmas.
I did well with the GC for September and had £1.78 left over out of £50.00.
So today I have started again for October. Did quite well and spent less than a fiver today and haven't got to go to the shops now until Saturday for fresh milk and bread.I think I will use my savings each month to save for a Remoska, as it seems to be a good idea instead of using the oven .As I live alone, sometimes it seems such a waste to put it on just for one thing.
My eldest DD popped in this morning which was a nice surprise as she was going to a course locally and didn't have to be there until 10.00.a.m. so we had a nice natter and coffee together.
I'm just off to sort out dinner for tonight I found some steak and a couple of sauages in the freezer so I may have a mixed grill as I have some mushrooms and half a red pepper that could do with being used up today .
Hope everyone has had a good day.Weather here in North Kent has been very changeable, rain on and off .Well onwards and upwards chiums Take care everyone and <<hugs>> for those who are in need
Cheers JackieO xxx
P.S. I saw in Mr T's they have started to sell Spam Fritters, reminded me of the war, must be a sign of the times perhaps we will all be eating Woolton Pie and snoek by next year if we get any broker:rotfl:0 -
Afternoon all, feel the need to take 5mns break, I have achieved all of the tasks I listed as well as cleaning some windows. I didn't get to Lidle but went to Morries instead. Bought large bags of Parsnip, Carrots, Onions, a swede and a Savoy cabbage all at 50p each. I also bought 10 energy saving bulbs, 5 x 11 watt, and 5 x 14 watt for £1. they are priced at 37p each or 5 for 50p.
:j
MEANMARIE, Good news about Ulick, please don't worry about the painting, it can always wait untill things improve. You need your strength and energy. Have you any friends/family that could help out?
HESTER, I do hope OH finds some work soon, it must be a worry for you both. I'm glad someone has finally seen what you have to cope with at work.
WHATATWIT, Hope FiL gets better soon.
SMOKY, What a lot you have taken on:eek: it's quite daunting when you start but hopefully soon you can stand back and admire all of your hard work with a cold lager/beer and congratulate yourself. Just a little tip for when you have to break off painting, load lots of paint on the brushes and wrap in clingfilm, it stops them going hard and saves cleaning. Also if you have a tray and roller just slip them into a carrier bag and pat the bag down so no air gets to the paint/roller. Next time you use them just unwrap and off yah go.
Hope I haven't just 'stated the bleedin obvious'
DOGROSE, your DD :T a Prefect, you must be so proud, like the way you slipped the info in, hoping no one would notice, I bet
CANDYGIRL, I do hope things improve for you, you're having a pretty rough time (((Huge Hugs to you and yours)))
MRS T MOUSE, You woke up naked and you didn't realise your PJ's had been removed
MSDIVA, Look forward to seeing the pics of your cards.
PENPIN, I'm so sorry to hear you're going through a rough time again, I hope tomorrow is kinder to you. ((((Hugs)))
BOOTSALEBABE, What a sad time it will be for all of you, just want to send hugs and Prayers x.
JACKI O, Good to hear you sounding better,
SAMPA :hello: Hi and welcome.
RZL, 5000 posts :T well done
Hope all the poorlys get better.0 -
Hello
I've been missing in inaction for a few days owing to me having to put all my music back on the computer and just being bone tired most of the time!
Been at my first aid refresher all day so am even more knickered than usual. My train ticket for 3 stops came to over £13!!!! Wasn't worried as it will be paid back ..... well that's the theory anyway but I was moaning about the expence on the course and everyone said that sounded a bit much - don't ask me as I normally don't need to travel by train without a network card. Anyway i got the ticket out and I had bought a first class from the blessed machine. The annoying thing was that I spent most of the journey trying to avoid my face going into someone's groin and the girl sitting next to me put her bl**dy phone music on at full blast. Just think I could have travelled in style! i'm not sure that work will pay it back now as I am definitely the wrong grade for first class travel but it turns out that one of the ladies on the course lives in the next street to me so i am getting a lift (and an hour's extra kip) tomorrow so will be saving them that journey - well that's the way I'm going to argue it anyway.
just waiting for dd(12) to get in so I can practice some bandages for tomorrow's asessment and will fritter away the time till then getting on with much neglected housework
Hope all is well - hugs all round (PP if OH and dd do go tonight then remember there's usually someone here for a chat later on)I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

Troo - my office/craft room looks just the same as your lounge as I too have been making christmas cards to sell. It looks like a glitter and ribbon factory has exploded in the vicinity!
I've just tidied mine up by pushing it into little piles and dumping the lot on the dining room table

That happens here too, maybe we should collect them all up and sell them as confetti. Very boring confetti, but confetti
I had a shower and hairwash this morning, it was a complete waste of time cos I went to FIL's to clean, the thick layer of grease that was in the kitchen left the surfaces as I blitzed it, and I'm sure it's all landed on me :rotfl: I picked the hardest-to-ride route (up a slope that seems a lot shorter in the car lol), just as I got to the bottom of the slope the wind picked up. My eyes were watering and my thighs hated me
I didn't quite make it to the top, I had to get off and walk
Next time I'm going across the fields, there's a lovely convenient path right in the middle of it.
Anyway - his kitchen. In january (or was it february?) we moved all his stuff in and I scrubbed everything. I put the fryer in a corner and the grill in full view, hoping he'd use the grill more often. But he uses the fryer all the time, trouble is he hasn't moved or cleaned it since I put it there and he drips the fat all over the worktop in front of it - that hasn't been cleaned either. So there I was, trying to get it all clean and he didn't have anything scrubby -just dishcloths  He told me he had everything and not to bring my stuff but it was all Flash and Cillit Bang and it was useless so when I go back I'm going OS-stylee and he can mind his own business :rotfl:I am a coffee bean0
