unlucky stevie............i bought a rokr i think it was.....submitted my voucher after 6 months........and recieved the full £137 cheque a few days ago (it took over 6 weeks to arrive).......and the envelope was torn open when it arrived (thieving posties)!!!
when i originally bought the fone.....the vouchers on the website were for months 12,18,24.
a few days later they had different vouchers up for months 6,9,12. i used the second lot of vouchers and it seems to have gone thru ok....
1 thing that puzzled me as follows.........
i am entitled to claim at months 6,9,12 on a 18 month contract.
normally the final cashback is at the end of the contract......having worked out what i will have paid in terms of line rental at the end of the 12th months and the total cashback....i will have recieved more cashback from the link than i will have paid for line rental..........how sto0pid is that??!! u'd think they might wanna make a few bob on the interest or someat!!0 -
you are all aware that as per the T&C on the claim form you can all change to Flext plans as long as the monthly amount is more than the Relax 200 tariff
laffin-really nearly 15 months of Flext £35 for free!

The contract was for 18 months at £29.00 per month but with months 1, 2, 3, 16, 17 and 18 all charged at half-price by T-mobile. So effectively I get 3 months of free line rental from T-mobile and the remainder comes in the form of cashback from The Link.
By my reckoning the cashback from The Link should be (9*29)+150 = £411 which is supposed to be paid in 3 installments of £137 by The Link. As usual with these offers you have to comply with ALL the requirments of the "Terms and Conditions". This includes submitting a correctly completed claim form along with all the necessary documentation within a certain time period of receiving your 6th, 9th and 12th airtime bills from T-mobile. There is a pre-printed claim form for each claim; the first of which is entitled "£137.00 Chequeback - Available after 6 months - LKD05-224 ST1". This has to be posted to an specific address which includes the words "The Link LKD05-224 ST1 Chequeback Promo", as the first line of the address.
My 6th months airtime bill was dated 05 June 2006 so I submitted the claim form and documentation a few days later using recorded signed for delivery to make sure that it was delivered correctly.
Today I received the cheque from The Link - FOR £60.00, NOT THE £137.00 THAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO PAY - what a bunch of Muppets.
Have you noticed that whenever cashback/chequeback promotions are operated, even when you comply with all the requirements of the "small print", the Companies involved always make "errors" which are to their advantage - leaving the customers short-changed.
The Link provide a telephone number to report if you haven't received your chequeback within 28 days....so I phoned and explained what they had done wrong (£60 chequeback payment instead of £137). The lady who answered the phone couldn't explian why cheque for wrong amount was sent out but requested me to return cheque direct to her, using freepost address, with letter of explaination and she would send out cheque for correct amount. I've done this using recorded signed for (again).
I don't know why they can't just send out another cheque for £77 they owe on the chequeback deal - maybe they think the cheque they have sent out was for £137 and I'm trying to con them!!
We'll see what happensWhat goes around - comes around.

This looks like a good idea, it has been annoying not having a text allowance with relax 200. The only reason I am slightly hesitant is that it may make you loose the £14.50 line rental from months 16-18. Did you ask them about this by any chance?0 -

After contacting The Link by telephone they requested I send the £60.00 cheque back to them and they would issue a cheque for the correct amount. I was a bit wary but I followed their instructions (after making a scanned copy of the cheque with all the details on it) and sent the cheque back to them using recorded signed for delivery. After 2 follow up telephone calls I finally recieved a cheque for the correct amount of £137.00 which has been banked and has now cleared.
I will be eligible to claim the 2nd cheque in about 2 weeks time!! so I hope I don't have the same trouble with the 2nd (and eventually the 3rd) cashback cheques!!What goes around - comes around.

If anyone is interested, the cashback cheque saga from The Link continues......
Picking up from my earlier posts in this thread, I was eligible to claim the 2nd of the 3 cashback cheques around mid-September 2006. So I sent off my claim documents by Recorded Signed for Delivery, which was received at the delivery address on 20 September 2006. By the end of October 2006 there was no sign of the cashback cheque, so I telephoned, only to be told that the cheque must have been lost in the post!!
However, apparently it would not be possible to issue a replacmeent immediately, instead the missing cheque would have to be cancelled before another one could be issued. I was informed that these cheques are only issued every so often, and therefore it could take up to another 30 days before I would get the cashback cheque to replace the one that had gone missing!!!
Eventually after another couple of phone calls (during one phone call, I was questioned as to whether I had sent my 2nd cashback cheque claim by "ordinary post" - since it might have failed to arrive!!!!) the 2nd cashback cheque duly arrived, for the correct amount, in early December 2006, just before I was entitled to make my claim for the 3rd of the cashback cheques.
I sent off my 3rd set of cashback cheque claim documents on 12 December 2006, again using Recorded Signed for Delivery, which was received at the delivery address on 20 December 2006 (8 days for a first class letter to be delivered!!!). I wonder what will happen to delay the payment this time!!
