I couldn't go last nite as have strained my hamstring from netball on Monday and didn't think it was worth the risk ... it is quite painful today too, so may have to hold out til tomorrow nite. :(

    Am very disappointed!

    Well done Flissh!

Thanks everyone. I am trying to get into it, and I am back on Week 2 (first run today). I will try hard to get to the gym every other day, but as always, some days are harder than others...

Please everyone! Keep going! It keeps me motivated and proved to me that it can work and I might be able to run for full 30 minutes in the end! Besides, with Christmas on the way and all the food that is going to be consumed then, I definitely need every bit of exercise I can get!

I have downloaded the podcasts to my iPhone and did day 1 of week 1 today - can't believe how unfit I am - didn't think I was going to make it through the last minute of running. I hope this gets easier!!

  • Just downloading now :-). Hopefully I will manage it. From my door to the 5k limit is the run round the 2 bays and then a slow walk back I reckon.

If you have an iphone there are apps you can download so that you can listen to your own music and it tells you when to walk and run in the background. Mine is called c25k. It's really useful.

Oooh I'm excited because I've noticed this thread a few times but thought i was doing a different running programme. Turns out though that the podcasts are based on the coolrunning couch to 5k programme which is the one I've been doing.

I am really keen to improve my fitness levels, esp CV fitness, and this seems to be the way to go :)

Currently on week 2 - trying to run 90 sec and walk 90 sec for 20 mins. Have completed the first one and will try the second either tomorrow or Thurs (tomorrow if I can fit it in as well as a swim).

Everyone else I know who runs, runs marathons so it would be great to have some company on the journey.

PS I'm doing treadmill running for now with a view to running outside in springtime...

Hi guys - got a link to your page and wondered if I could join you. I started my own thread to use as more of a diary to force myself to keep up my exercise but I could do with some support too - if that's ok. I have been a member of a gym for a few years now and as you can probably guess I go full of enthusiasm and get stuck in and then I usually get injured / ill / or distracted then end up starting from scratch again (see my signature :o).

So here we go again..... I started on Monday night with 25 mins brisk walk on the treadmill (and 20 min on crossramp). Day off yesterday and back to the gym tonight. I noticed when I was there that there is a 5k fun run in my area March sometime so now I have something to aim for.
