    Hi Everyone,
As I mentioned before I've let the running slip over the summer, and perhaps only managed one,not very good run per week !!! and used every excuse to to get into a routine of going 3x PW - been feeling depressed, tired and stressed of late and know that running will help,so I've vowed to go three times per week, and has just done week 3 - OMG you soon loose your fitness levels quickly!!! But anyway I made it and will run again on Thursday,no excuses !!!!

Good luck and keep at at !!!

My legs were like that after my first run. I waited a week and then started over again and was fine :) are you stretching?

Hurray for me, done my last run of week one tonight. I am going to give week two a try, but if it's too hard I'll be going back to week one until I feel ready :p

    Bring on Friday! :D

  • Hi.. i'm back :)

I reckon I need to download that pod thingy, but my trainers are naff! and I don't have any decent running gear OR a sports bra!

Decided I won't tell OH about it, will drive to a place out of the way of people I know and have a bash. When I get the courage up that is. Feel like I'm turning into a blob so need to do 'something' :)

  • Don't be scared :). How about instead of running the 60 second intervals you just upped your walking pace for 60 secs so that you were slightly out of breath (but could still hold a conversation) then rested at a slower more comfortable walking pace for the 90 second interval. When you're ready (and only when you're ready :)) you can try a few paces of jogging to start with and then back to your faster walking pace and 60 second slower pace.

I couldn't run in May - struggled to get to 60 seconds running. This afternoon I went out for a 3 mile run. I wasn't easy by any stretch and I struggled, but by golly I feel better for it.

In May I was size 16/18 in jeans and today I've just put on my first pair of size 12 jeans in years. I haven't really changed my diet much at all, just upped the exercise.

Good luck to you petrafyde. It's so true what they say about the first step being the hardest.

I found your post really inspiring, thanks :)

    I'm 18/20 now :( Used to be a 12/14. Seriously frightened lol

I got my trainers for £30 and they are definetly worth it, really feel the difference :) I just don't have enough there to need a sports bra though :o

Do it your own way in your own time, soon you'll be running the 5k no problem ;)

I won't, it was my first time downloading a podcast too and I'm 21 and should be 'with it' :rotfl:

I just use some joggy bottoms I got for £6 for the race for life this year and an old jumper.
