Hi,
I'd like to do something like this but to be honest, I'm really scared?
I doubt I could run 10 yards without being out of puff, I've put so much weight on since having the kids. Attended weight watchers for a few weeks - lost a few stone and then fell off the wagon when I went to mums in Newquay.. never got back on and now money is so tight, have had to cancel the membership!
Think I might have to look at a more 'tame' exercise regime, but think you're ever so brave starting joggingNo chocolate, cosmetics or clothes to be bought before xmas day 14! ~ NPower eBay target £541.670 -

OMG,That sounds like me 18m ago !!!!
OK,so there I was, a slightly over weight, 39 year old mummy of 2 who hadn't so much as ran for a bus in 20 years when I decided to sign up for the race for life, determined to run every step of the way.Anyway I downloaded Couch to 5k ,got up at 5.15 am (so nobody could see me) and went for my first jog -believe me when I say I struggled to run for 60 seconds (thought I was going to die). But I kept at it,even when I had weeks that I thought I wasn't getting anywhere and had to repeat sessions - 16 weeks later I ran every step of that 5k race for life and you know what, I was so bloody proud of myself.
So come on and join us,take it very slowly and you'll be amazed how much weight you'll loose and how much fitter you will be in just a few weeks.
What are you waiting for ? get your trainers on,get couch to 5 k downloaded and get going................:T0 -

Don't be scaredI've only been out twice and I do struggle with it but it feels so good being out there running. I think if you went out once you would really enjoy it, do what nottslass done and get up early if your worried about being out of breathe and people seeing or anything.
The podcast starts you off nice and easy (well compared to other running programs anyway). Come on, join us, I really think if you could go out and do it once then you wouldn't turn back. Besides, it's free

Tempting! I need freebies
Let me dwell on it a bit, it's like a hurdle six foot high so I'll see if I can pluck up the courageIf not, I might try riding my bike a lap to from and around the town centre. (haven't been on that for years either!).

I am dead. That was the hardest run I have done so far. It was so hot and I had to wear a tighter top and I had to go uphill, I probably should have had something to eat today too. I really didn't think I'd be able to finish it but I did, my legs are going to ache tomorrow.
Phew, bring back the rainJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

Don't be scared. How about instead of running the 60 second intervals you just upped your walking pace for 60 secs so that you were slightly out of breath (but could still hold a conversation) then rested at a slower more comfortable walking pace for the 90 second interval. When you're ready (and only when you're ready
) you can try a few paces of jogging to start with and then back to your faster walking pace and 60 second slower pace.
I couldn't run in May - struggled to get to 60 seconds running. This afternoon I went out for a 3 mile run. I wasn't easy by any stretch and I struggled, but by golly I feel better for it.
In May I was size 16/18 in jeans and today I've just put on my first pair of size 12 jeans in years. I haven't really changed my diet much at all, just upped the exercise.
Good luck to you petrafyde. It's so true what they say about the first step being the hardest.
You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

It was hot today wasn't it . And in the middle of October too! I came home looking like a boiled beetroot - or actually more like this ==>Is there any reason why I can't run more often? I'm really enjoying it and would quite like to do it more often but not sure if I'd just end up doing myself damage
Been there. Done that. Broke me.
Apparently you need to give your body time to recover before you challenge it again.

You had a reason, you done 3 milesI'm still on my 60 seconds. Got one more run on week one then supposed to be going to week two but I don't think I'm ready for it so will stick to week one for now.
