Harry - that stretches everything that I do apart from the illotial band - here's an example here:
    http://www.rice.edu/~jenky/sports/itband.v2.html

As to to whether they're sufficient, I'm not an expert, I can only tell you what I do. Pop over to the health and fitness thread - they'll discuss stretching all day over there :p

Princess - congratulations on your running :D Wish it was me - well maybe someday.

I've added you both to the list :)

I'm afraid I'm on strike though, until I get trainers I can actually run in. I tried to put my trainers on again after hurting my heel with them last time and I couldn't even walk around my livingroom in them :(

Really annoying, I want to get going again!

If you can afford it go to a specialist running shop and have your gait looked at. I went to one in Harrogate called Up and Running. Bearing in mind that I was rather overweight and not wearing a sports bra, the beggars put me on a treadmill and made me run , meanwhile videoing my feet to see what kind of running shoe I needed. It worked though - I've never had a moments problems with my feet and running. Not cheap, but I think work every penny I paid.

Here is a link to the kind of decisions you might need to make when choosing a shoe for yourself. Runners World Shoe Finder Guide

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

Tried the week 4 program today, harder than wk 3 but still felt I could run for longer, maybe try wk 5 tomorrow or Thu. How's everyone else getting on? Looks like I'm fitter than I realised :D (joined the gym 8 weeks ago and could hardly manage 10 mins on the treadmill then)

Wk 4 music after the first 5 min run was fab - really got me going. I'm finding these podcasts have really released me from watching the clock and timing run/walks. Much easier to run when I can concentrate on breathing and technique rather than how many more minutes!

    You can do it! :D

I might have to wait another couple of weeks until I get paid, but I'll be back running soon :)

Drea, this must be really frustrating for you, especially as you were the one who started the topic! Do let us know how you get on when you're able to start running again.

I'm really grateful that you started the thread as it's motivated me to do it:T I went for my final run of week 1 this morning, and really enjoyed it. It was on a quiet country road and the weather was beautiful. And I saw a jay! (they're quite rare I think)

It was stupid of me to think I could run with the trainers I had anyway. I'm going to be so behind though :(

Well done you, good to hear that your enjoying it :)
