Thanks hex2, and keep on running! :-)0

Day 1 week 1, I think I'm dying
How long until it gets easier? :rotfl:The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0 -
It will get easier - every week, I promise!0

Thanks for replying
I did the second lot today and it definitely seemed a little easier (well less of a collapse at the end :rotfl:)

jessicamb - I'm 45, have 4 kids and smoked for more years than I care to admit to. Eight weeks ago I couldn't run 60 seconds without thinking I would die. This morning I ran 28 mins straight and could possibly have done more. This program is ACE - keep with it and see some fabulous results! Your self esteem will be sky high (and rightly so!)0

Hey jessica, it gets easy. Stick to getting out there 3 times a week.0

I started this, this week. But did it around my living room instead as I cannot face people seeing me on the streets - daft I know, but if I lost 6st I would see be a bit overweight!
I WILL take myself outside this week. I will - if I want to do it properly.
But it wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be. And I am feeling really proud of myself this week. Just need some new trainers - the high street shops don't stock 8.5 in ladies!0 -
On the positive note...
Last november (Nov 08), i started to run. I would struggle to run for 2-3mins. I soon progressed onto running 5k in about 23mins (best effort, with wind behind me). Usually knock 5k out in about 27-28mins without any real effort of loss of breath.
Last month i completed my 10k road race, and completed it in 1hr 3mins, with a bruised / cracked 2nd rib.
It will come in time, just have to stick with it.
I thought the weight was not coming off, i was 78kgs, then after about 3 months, probably when i pushed the distance out to about 4miles, dropped the kebabs, mcdonalds, more salads then did i see the belly reduce to near flat, and the fat at the back of the legs turn into muscle / reduce.
Weighed myself last week, weight in at 73kgs. Which is pretty good. 9 years ago when i was 20, i weighed 65kgs, so dont think im going to lose any more weight.0 -

I would not worry about people looking at you, after a whilst you get use to it, and just think that they are jealous, as they are sat in traffic as you run past them.
A few key things to look like you fit in when running i guess..
If your a new runner
a) id wear tracksuit bottoms, black / blackish
b) A white / bright t-shirt
c) Water bottle in hand
d) iPod / MP3 player
e) Wear a smile like your enjoying it
I would recommend trying a few sets of trainers on, getting some that fit you right, and your foot resists going inwards, twisting your ankle. See if you can try them out, run up and down the shop, or outside, £30 should see you good i think, plenty out there. Cant find womans, buy mens.
