Don't look ahead at week 5 otherwise you'll get scared! You have a different run each time, but it is doable. It's the first time you feel like you really are running.

I've been lurking a bit and am fascinated by this thread! I haven't been running much for the last 18 months, and am just starting to get back into it. I'm finding some days easier than others i.e. on Monday I struggled to run for 15 minutes, but on Tuesday I ran easily enough for almost 30 minutes (mixture of inclines and speeds). I am trying to get my fitness back but also lose weight. Any tips on how I should be progressing? I've never really had a training programme, I used to just run when I felt like it back in the good old days (when I was slimmer!). Someone said to me that you should run up hills every so often to make real progress. Is that true?

    Thanks in advance. :)

  • I'm not sure what this podcast is, but I'm going to download it tonight and see if it helps me get above 10 minutes on a treadmill!

I could re-upload my podcasts - I've got one which is 25 mins of running, and one for 30. Alternatively, make your own!

    25 min playlist
Bon Jovi - Stick to your guns (start running here)
PJ and Duncan - Let's get ready to rhumble
Bowling For Soup - Girl all the bad guys want
Guns N Roses - Out ta get me
The Donnas - All messed up
    Savage Garden - Affirmation
    Bon Jovi - Alive
Dolly Parton - 9 to 5 (stop running here)
    Nickleback - Too bad

I'm not sure on the exact tracks for the 30 min one, but it starts with Nirvana, has some Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Coheed and Cambria, Funeral For A Friend and other stuff on.

i've made my own playlist to run to, a mixture of MGMT, MIA, gnarls barkley, outkast, lily allen, gorillaz and kayne west, really love to listen to my ipod when i run.

i did 25 mins tonight on my own but the ground was getting too slippy so i decided to not do the 30

Oh dear, what did you do?

I'm still running! Have decided to start going with someone from work. I'm also running with my sister tomorrow.
