  • Hi all! Completed day 2 of week 3 today - next run on Saturday. For the first time I am feeling like this might really work. From feeling exhausted after the 60 sec runs in week one, I find myself feeling great after running for 3 minutes, and even feeling like I could carry on for a while. Can't wait to finish week 3 at the weekend, ready for week 4 next week!

And to top it all it was a beautiful day out there, running in the park. I didn't even mind the muddy track!

Just in from week 2 run 2, it was ok, quite liked the rain, less people out walking to see me huff and puff and also kept me cool :)

Ouch - hope her back feels better soon. I finished my last run of week 3 today, so am starting week 4 tomorrow. Am finding the longer runs a bit easier than the shorter ones, so hopefully a 5 minute run won't be too big of a jump.

Can't blame her about the 20 minute run - am not looking forward to it myself!

ah when the dizziness goes you'll be ok to go out running with a cold. i got a cold in week three but decided to go out anyway and it cleared my nose and felt really good. i did some reading online about it and it said if you've got a cold its fine to go running but not if you've got like a chesty cough or chest infection. hope this helps.

we're going out for 30min runs threee times a week now to just get used to running that distance. i went out last night on my own to do an extra run and it felt weird cos my bf wasnt there but at the same time i've always wanted to just go for a run when i want to and now i can

I started this program when I had a cold and I did start to feel better because of it, although it didn't help my runny nose at all! Juno, if you are dizzy, it may mean you aren't hydrated enough, so definitely wait til you're feeling better before starting again :)

I haven't done any runs this week, firstly as had my ipod stolen so need to download onto my other system, but also because I have re-caught the dreaded lurgy, including chesty cough!

However, I have had some exercise this week, with packing and moving boxes up and down 3 flights of stairs! My legs were like jelly :)

Also went to a ceilidh last night, and danced all the dances, was so much fun - I can definitely feel the improvement in fitness from just 3 weeks of these runs.

Keep up the good work everyone!

Funnily enough we had a conversation where we both decided the longer runs were better because you get into your stride where as with the shorter ones you stop just when your getting in a rythm. I still find it bizarre you do a 20min one in week 5 then go back down to intervals. It must be to do with recovery and to stop you body getting used to it before your strengthened properly.
