  • Completed run 1 of week 3 yesterday well actually i foolishly did it twice once in the gym on the treadmill and then in the evening with GF. Wasnt to bad although the lower front of my left leg is a bit tender.

sarsief - I dont much carefor the music on the podcast either but its better than nothing and if i had to use a stop watch i would get obsessed i have to cover the distance/time when i use treadmills. The other thing is as only i hear the podcast the GF can just run and not worry about things like 'only one minute left to run' (out of 3 lol) because i dont tell her these bits usually :rotfl:

What other podcasts? I must have missed those.

  • Good morning!
I did Week 1 Run 3 this morning, and it feels so good to have got up early and see the sun rise over the countryside :-)
Didn't feel as difficult as the last 2 runs so I'm probably ready for Week 2, do you think? I could have carried on running after 60 seconds I mean.
My boyfriend wants to come with me tomorrow night so I've said I'll stick with Week 1 for him.
    Cymru am Byth!

I totally agree, having music is better than having nothing and I love that Robert tells you when to change pace, that really motivates me.

If you check back on previous posts in the thread, there are links to other people's websites where they have made their own music up for the C25K program. Although from what I understand, some don't necessarily tell you when to run and when to walk, I think you have to work this out by the music changing.

Try this link (Hope it works, haven't posted links before :) ) or it's on page 26 of this thread.

but im still going to repeat this week next week iyswim
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

  • Hi all! Am starting week 3 tomorrow, feeling slightly apprehensive but mostly excited. Will take a look at the other podcasts as change usually motivates me - thanks for posting the link Sarsief! We're off to Dorset for the weekend, so will use that to keep me running when I hit the pain barrier!

sarsief the pain in your legs will go, i found that with every new week i was getting pain in my legs but it would subside as the week continued. when i did the first run of week 6 my legs were sore in the evening. also if your legs are hurting after running a lot then it could be your trainers from the impact of the ground? also also i felt like the slowest person in the world too, in fact to begin with i am positive i could walk faster than i was running! but right now the most important thing is to complete the times and not the speed you complete it in (so says one of my friends who runs marathons!)

today we ran for 25mins which i was really pleased with, by the last 5 mins i felt like i was flying along. we're going to try 30mins on saturday if the weather is ok

[quote=juno; I found the 5th run the hardest! If you're getting a stitch, are you sure you're not getting carried away because it's the end soon and running too fast? You want to try to keep all the intervals the same speed. Being slower than usual is fine, as long as they're all the same

Juno, you are right, I get to the last run and get excited because I have made it and then put in a little bit extra effort as it is the last interval. I will have to keep an eye on that!

thanks kiraroo, i feel better knowing that others are having the same feelings as me (i was going to say problems, but I'm feeling positive today!)

Up early again! Almost didn't get up as had a few beverages last night and didn't sleep so well, but made myself. Went ok, 2nd interval was the best, last was definitely hardest. Feeling good now, ready to attack the day!

Keep up the good work everyone and thanks for all the encouragement!
