Well done :) Its run night for me tonight. I'm going to stay with week 1 again this week. Even though I found it easy last week my getting sore shins at the end of Fridays run i've decided to keep with week 1 again for another week.

I'm also trying to decide if I can be bothered to use my cross trainer for its actual purpose rather than something to hang my clothes on.....

take it easy - dont push it and if you need to walk more then do it as if you push it you may end up with another week off !!!

Oooh, only just found this thread. I did the C25K plan earlier this year, got to week five then found I was pregnant and just repeated week three for a while, then stopped altogether. So I never got to my 20 minute run! Anyuway, I started again a few weeks ago, I'm on week three at the moment and pleased to be doing it again. Nice to see lots here are doing it too!

What I really love about the plan is that it really is doable - I was totally unfit, and yet managed each step without repeating. And it's wehn you do something like run for hte bus that you suddenly realise how much fitter you are, almost without noticing.

For those who are worried about week 5 onwards (ie. 20 minute run, etc.)- don't worry, it's not as bad as it seems! After week 5 it goes back down again to shorter runs, gradually building up to 25 minutes. Then the following week it does the same building up to 30 minutes. So don't assume that once you get to the 20 minute run it will carry on like that! It's like one step backwards and two steps forward each week (IYKWIM). So if you're used to repeating weeks, you will definitely find it easier NOT to do this from Week 5 onwards. Just follow the plan as it is.

I've just started week 6 and have found it OK (hard, but doable!) It does seem like a big jump from Week 5 onwards, but our friend Robert definitely knows what he's doing with this programme, so I've found it best just to follow it exactly and do what he says!

  • I don't think i'll be running tonight :( I really want to but I seem to have had a reaction to the carpet shampoo my mum has used. It's all I can smell and taste and my breathing has gone funny, so I don't think it's wise to go out. Grrrr.

Yeah, you can! It's not as bad as you think. Just take it slowly. I didn't think I could do it either, so when I did mine I took it very slow and steady all the way through, and when it finished, I honestly felt I could keep going!
