Week 4 Run 1 today...
Did the final run of week 3 yesterday (I know...glutton for punishment but I just felt like doing it!!) and for my final run on week 3 made the last interval 5 minutes...and I felt OK!
Made it through absolutely fine, although I think I will use my own music for the next run, as not convinced that the music on this week is helping all that much! But that's personal taste rather than anything else.
Am just settling down for lunch, roast mutton shoulder with piles of veg, then I think a wander into town to pick up a few bits as long as the rain holds off. If not I might go for a bit of a swim...choices, choices!!
Can't believe that four weeks of running training have turned me from a lazy git to a fitness queen!! What am I going to be like by Week 9? eeeeeek! If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.

I'm gonna start week 5 later!
I'm also surprised by the changes. My legs no longer ache all the time, and I have more energy. I've been out running in the cold, and the rain, and previously I thought anyone who did that was crazy! I also sometimes actually want to run and look forward to it.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Yes, funny that... I had looked at week 4 when I started and was quite put off, just goes to show what you can achieve bit by bit. Like the old saying..how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time, and easy on the barbecue sauce!
Well done Juno, will be catching up with you soon as I'm trying to run every day now (inspired by the fact Christmas is coming and the 'Fighting Fit' book I have that advocates a half-hour run daily for six days a week. And I think I'm ready to step things up a bit. Will be carefully watching my progress though as I'm prone to shin splints and am also on a calorie-restricted diet. So if it all gets too much back to every other day...
Can't believe it occurred to me a little while back that I could run to work and home again if I wanted to...a route from 4-5 miles depending on which roads I use. That's 6-7.5 km, so not impossible. Still can't quite believe that a few short weeks ago the mere though of that would have left me gasping...
And well done to everyone sticking to it despite all the things this time of year can throw at you...

I could run to work and back again if I wanted, as it's only about a mile away. But I cycle instead
This is usually because it takes 5 mins on my bike, and I am usually late.

Hey Jen and welcome!!
Have you downloaded the mp4 files or the mp3's? I couldn't get the mp4s to work but you can find mp3 files here: http://www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/page6/page6.html just right-click on the 'podcast' and 'save link as' to save the podcast as an mp3. Works fine on my bog-standard mp3 player!
All the best with it, stick at it and you'll be at week 9 before you know it!!!!
(just started week 4 today...)

Hi,
Thanks for the welcome!!
Your all so far ahead ... I really enjoyed the scenery yesterday as I went places I have no need to for anything else so it was interesting to see parts of the city I havent before.
I have tried the MP3 ones too and they keep loading and playing in my browser (I'm not sure running clinging onto my laptop is a good idea!) when I click and request Save as souce .... it doesnt do anything and there doesnt seem to be any other option to save it ... grr

We may be a bit further ahead of you but you will be ahead of someone else in a few weeks!!!
Have you tried 'save link as' rather than 'save source as'? Not sure if there's any difference...alternatively if you're really stuck, if you have MSN Messenger or Skype, PM me and I'll send you my details and I can send you the files via that.
Hope that helps!
