ok i have a confession - ive been naughty !!
i really didnt like week 3 so ive gone straight onto week 4 ......

it was ok - last 5 min run was challenging so i just went a bit slower then upped it for that last minute

was really pleased with myself afterwards :)
however calories and distance travelled was still only the same as what i was doing in week 2 which doesnt make any sense to me
how can you go from running for 9 mins to running 16 mins and still burn the same calories ??
but yeah 220 calories and 3.4 km

gone a bit quiet in here hasnt it ? come on ladies how are you all doing ???

Oo week 4, I really don't think I could do that yet, 5 minute runs would kill me ;)

I know what you mean about week 3 though, it doesn't seem to fit in with what we've been doing. Can't explain but it just doesn't feel right, but I'll stick with it for the week and see how I feel after Sunday's run.

I'll be going out again tomorrow night.

Are there running hats you can get? My ears get so cold it actually hurts.

Yes- they have them in Aldi. There are running hats and also head band thingies that just go over your ears (I got one of these and it's great). I was in Aldi earlier actually, and although they've sold out of most of their running gear, they still have some of these left.

They also have 'running gloves'- don't know what makes them different from ordinary gloves, but I got some as they were pretty cheap and are doing the job of keeping my hands warm!

Ah I wish there was an Aldi near me now, those bands sound brilliant because I think a hat would get too hot but something just for my ears would be great.

I do get cold hands but I can't wear gloves, they always affect my hands bad, make them feel horrible (can't explain, I have strange hands) so I will just have to put up with that.

daisy, I would be inside if I could be :rotfl: mind you, there's something nice about being out running.

  • Just been out - crikey that was hard!

I haven't been running properly for a while so it serves me right. I dropped back to 3k (3.1k to be exact, just under 2 miles ) which I did in 21mins flat. So I was really plodding :o. But it used up 219 cals :j.

However, this morning I took the dogs out for a similar distance (exactly 2 miles) at a brisk walk and that used 231 cals. It did take twice as long though.

I should stick to my every other day running plan. I've let it drop recently and I can tell the difference. I must remember to wear 'longs' instead of calf length running shorts - the horizontal rain was stinging me legs :p.

Good Luck ladies and keep it up - you know you want to. :D

ETA: You know, this thread is a great motivation. If I'd had to come back here and say I'd not gone out again it would have looked so bad :o. I was gritting my teeth in the rain about Webitha running in lovely warm Turkey though. ;) Even a couple of hours later I still feel quite zingy from the run. It helps to lift the winter blues too.

im not sure if ive been really naughty but i have been and done a week 4 run again today - with no rest day ......
stats were better tho - 244 calories and 3.6 km - not quite sure why that differed from yesterday as i followed the podcast pretty much spot on both times ....yesterday i did finish the cool down walk 2 mins early but that was all

anyhow - it was tough but a good tough if you get me

the step class i did straight after was tougher......my excuse - hardly any exercise this week due to work and half term !!
