  • I don't know about taking a bottle of water coz I need to get organised I took my ipod with no arm band thingy (as haven't got one yet) so tucked it into the top of my pants :rotfl: And then I thought oh beep what will I do with my door key? So ran with key in my hand :rotfl:

:D And to think some people do this for fun

Drink some water about 15 minutes before you set off (but remember to visit the loo before you set off). It should help with the dry mouth thing. I tuck my door key down my sports bra. It does look a bit sus having a rummage when I get home again though. :o

Good for you for going out :j. Roll on Sunday!

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

Think I will buy one of them water bottles coz I can't believe how dry I was  so surely it will be better to drink while I'm running, well if you can call it running that I do :o :rotfl:
I'm sure I was staggering at one point :rotfl: :o

I've just done my first, and I didn't die! I did mistime things somehow, and ending up at my house before I should, so I had to walk randomly down the road agian to come back... And I probably looked a bit funny, as I got to the end of run 4 and just stopped and turned round. I used to run to a road and back, so at least I had something to mark my turning round point.

I did see someone from work (on the opposite side of the road) when I was walking, though. But I have no idea what she said to me, as I couldn't hear her :)

I bought my new mp3 player as an incentive to start running again, and it's so much better than my old one :D

Keeping Motivated, I'm doing my next one on sunday, so we can do it together :)

I've been running (well, a mix of running and walking) a bit earlier this year, so it's a bit further and more structured than what I was doing earlier. I can remember feeling like I was going to die my first time so I can see how going straight into this would be hard!

But I only used to run once a week, so I think 3 times a week will be hard for me.

I took a bottle of water on my first run ever, and I didn't get chance to drink it and didn't really need it. That was in the summer, when it was quite hot too. So now it's getting colder I'm not so concerned about that.

:rotfl: Sorry, I couldn't help but laugh at your 'staggering' comment KM :D

My first run I thought I was going to die, it does get easier very quickly. My legs ached for a couple of days after my first one too but since then they have been fine

Had my first run of week two today, oh my god! It's only 30 seconds longer each time but it killed me, before I just got tired out or a stitch when I was struggling but my legs were aching with this one, really felt it on my legs. I made it though (just) and my next one is on Sunday :)

Well done to everyone doing this :D

juno, added you to the list :)

Looks like there's quite a few of us running on Sunday :D

I'm really glad I started this thread, it's kept me going and it's nice to hear that other people are doing it and enjoying it (or dying as the case may be ;)).

  • Can I join too please? I have used the podcasts previously and got to week 3 and then lost momentum. I have completed two sessions of week one again this week and will be running again on Sunday (uuuurrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhh) but stepping up to week two.

I think I may be on my own though in so far as you all run on the road and I am at a gym on the treadmill. Does this matter?
