then dont i know for a fact i willl be on week 1 for a few weeks first.
stay on week 1 until YOUR ready to move on, or you dont feel any benefit from week 1, that way you can do yourself any damageIf we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

I am a bit worried about going from week one to week two. Tomorrow I am supposed to be going onto week two, not sure I'm ready for it yet.
You could try week 2,but if you find its too much, there is nothing in the rules to say that you can't go back.
when I did the couch to 5k the first time round I think I got stuck on week four for about 5 weeks, but just kept repeating it until I felt ready to move on.
Anyway.now that I've been motivated by this thread to start running properly again, I'm going out later today to do week three again.0 -
I think the idea with this running lark is that we run at a pace where we can still hold a conversation (albeit an slightly out of breath one). The first 10 minutes of any run is a real b*gger (that's why I try to set off down hill as it's easier
). I [strike]probably[/strike] definitely don't warm up properly
. Ideally I should do the brisk 5 minute walk, so I only have myself to blame. After that initial 10 minutes I find I can keep going at a steady pace for a fair while. My heart and lungs are keeping up with the energy needs of my muscles.
But I remember nearly coughing up a lung when I was first starting, especially Weeks 1 & 2 - it can be very difficult to find your own pace. But you will get there!
You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.
Oi you lot - pleaseGIVE BLOOD
- you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

Ah,well the trick is to turn up your music, look straight ahead, smile(as if you are really enjoying it) and remember, when you're sweaty, out of breath and on the verge of collapse nobody will know that you haven't actually just run a marathon. Failing that do what i do,take my contact lenses out - if I can't see them then they can't see me (or so I like to think !)0 -

:rotfl: I think like that too when I get out of breath. I just think 'well for all they know I've ran 50 miles' :rotfl:Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
I'm not kidding when I say I can feel my heart rate go up at the mere mention of it being hard
How bad is that?

Hi,justb a couple of tips which helped me along the way when I did Couch to 5k first time around. When you are doing your walking interval, try to keep the pace "quite brisk",I know you feel like walking at snails pace to recover, but it really does help to improve your overall fitness over the weeks.
Another thing that helped me is when the running intervals are for differn't times i.e on week three the first run is for 90 sec the 2nd for 3 mins, try going faster on the shorter runs, then slowing your pace down for the longer run.
Also if you go to www.mapmyrun.com you can plot the route that you run to find your distance and (if I rember rightly) the calories burned.
Good luck everyone and thanks again to Drea, for getting me motivated again:j0 -
Right running trainers have been bought as have some running socks £43.99 in total and the trainers are 'asics'. Had to ask in the shop which were running trainers coz I had no clue
Made sure I had a big bowl of ready break about an hour ago so I don't pass out
So..... I am now going to go upstairs and find something to wear and then I will be going for my run
Wish me luck coz believe me I am going to need it!!!
Is it just me who has stupid thoughts but I was just thinking I don't know how far to run as don't want to be far away from home when its finished or I will be gutted having to walk home then when I am exhausted :rotfl:
Ok will go and find something to wear and stop stalling for time
