Hello to all the new posters. Jamtart6 ,trust me until a week and a half ago I could not run anywhere either. I do only run at a snails pace but we all have to start somewhere. As for what you do ,why don't you try using the podcasts that lots of us are using. If you look back through the posts I am sure you will find the link. I just put my headphones on and when the man says walk I walk and when he says run I run. I didn't like the music much but I like just following the instructions.
Belfastgirl23 I am really not eating more than usual. I do have a huge appitite but I am just eating what I normally do. (Box of choccies for valentines day...but I did share them;)) Anyway I think there could be progress in this department. I weighed myself first thing in the morning before my cup of coffee and whilst holding my breath and taking my watch off AND I had lost 1lb:rotfl:
Thanks for the encouragement goppers feel even worse today and the postman took my sports bra back to the post office because it would not fit through the letter box!!!!!! Just how big is it?:rotfl:
Well I am going to treat myself to an early night with my hot water bottle. I walked to and from work again today so just keeping in with the light exercise on my "between" days.
Keep up the good work everyone.

Well did week 6 run 2 this morning - another 5 min/8 min/5min run. Went fine I think. I'm really surprised I'm not stiffer actually after running. Next one is the 25 minute one on Sunday  which then needs repeated three more times for week 7 :eek::eek: Hard to believe I'm three weeks away from running 5k!

Welcome Jamtart have you looked at the couch to 5k running plan? If you google coolrunning you'll find it. The programme is working for all of us :) And welcome Ginvintsz :)

PenPop and Helen you feeling any better yet?

And where is everyone else? Am I running alone? :D

Hi, can I join you?? I'm signing up to do the 5k Race for Life with a friend.

I think (hope!) I'm fit-tish, as I go to the gym and spinning classes. I'm currently in pain from my first ever abs class on Wednesday night.......I've now discovered this "core" everyone talks about, and ouch it hurts!!

I need to start running outside and not just on the treadmill, but it's fitting it in with gym & classes, work, 3yr old and dh does gym & boxing too.

Hoping maybe late afternoon if dh gets home early.

Hi there everybody. Felt too poorly to run today:( I have a nasty chesty cough. I thought about it, but I have to take care of myself because I am helping to look after my Father who is quite poorly and I cannot afford to get too run down. It's part of why I'm doing this to keep myself healthy to juggle all the balls etc. I'm really dissappointed. I did go for a "fast" walk wearing my polar heart monitor and keeping in Zone 2 but it really does not have the same sense of acheivement attached to it.
    Well done Belfastgirl23 :A
Welcome claireac i did the race for life about 8 years ago..that was the last time I did any exercise until two weeks ago . Welcome Ally E. maybe doing the podcasts might help with the motivation. Today when I went out without my "podcast" I missed the little voice in my ear saying "well done you are doing GREAT" in that american accent of his. As much as I hate to admit it, it really works!

Aw Teachergirl, hope you feel better soon.

I skipped running on Thursday as I felt no better. Today I brisk walked 30mins to baby weighing clinic then 30mins back again after instead of going in the car :T

I'm doing week 3 run 2 in the morning but thats all I will be able to fit in this week as Sunday will have to be 'rest' day and it's my birthday too :D

I did race for life 2 years ago..jogged it all in 32mins, then continued improving and at the height of my fitness before falling pregnant I was running the same 3 miles distance in 27mins!
love my little man he is amazing :j

    Helen81 - have a nice birthday!

I went for a run last night and did Week 2 again. It was not bad at all and I didn't really struggle. I did get headache during the night touching, which lasted for the most of today, but hey... I hope to find time tomorrow to get to the gym for another run, Week 2 again. If it goes well and I feel ok afterwards, I will move to Week 3 next week.
