Hi Teachergirl, well i didn't think i had anything to bounce until i bought myself a sports bra and realised how much more comfortable they are than normal bras... i'm not particularly big (only a 34a) but they still bounced! Well done on your run and good luck for your Friday run, hopefully you will be feeling a lot better by then.

Welcome back Treeny_bash, you are pretty much at the same stage as me, so if I can do it, so can you...! You are not allowed to fall of the wagon again, consider yourself told!

Big hello to Jacjacjac and Littleone will be good to see how you both progress.

And well done Bramble1 for completing your run.

And BelfastGirl23 have you started week 6 yet?

Well timed Gopps, did week 6 run 1 today on the treadmill. I think I might go for day 2 on Friday and day 3 on Sunday again. It wasn't too bad - I did 8kph for the 5 min sections and 7.5kph for the 8 min section. 250 cals burned in 30 mins which is excellent for me. I then tried to go on the crosstrainer and sort of failed miserably :) but hey you can't do everything!

Bramble I find swimming after running is really good, sort of stretches out the muscles and leaves me less stiff. But I know not everyone has time for this!

JacJac I bet you progress fast, I think people who have run before can move through the programmes faster than the rest of us. Good luck!

Well done Littlebit on being ambitious, I'm still just crawling through the 5k programme and almost afraid of ruining my luck by saying what I'd like to do :) Interestingly I have been looking at what a 5k distance is, and it's exactly my nightly walking route so I'm feeling a bit better about that now.

Teachergirl any more running done? On the weightloss are you eating more to make up for the running? I ask having downed both eggs and a bowl of porridge yesterday before mid-day :o so I know what I'm talking about!

And good luck Treenybash, belive me we all have days and weeks like that, I had to take a duvet day just after Xmas when DH went back to work in London again I was feeling so sorry for myself. And ate like a pig for about 4 days. The difference is that once upon a time I would have kept going pretty much for the rest of the winter, this time around I stopped after a few days you've done the same. Be proud of yourself.

    Hi all,
I joined this thread about a year ago and didn't make it off the couch. I REALLY need to be getting fit though, but where to start? I'm SO unfit I can't run at all. Do I start with a quick walk? How often? I have a couple of months until my wedding so really should have started before this and feel that I've left it all too late :(

Things are sent to try me. I went to the gym last Monday (22nd) to restart my routine. Did weights and my running plan but managed to go over on my ankle stepping off a weights bench - just don't ask how I managed it I don't know (ridiculously clumsy).

So I'm now waiting for it to stop hurting so I can get back to the gym. AARGH!

Hello all, I haven't been here for a while... I had a long break in my running training. For different reasons, but mainly laziness...

So, I am going back to it. I am determined. I actually got up today and as I am working from home today, decided to go to gym before I started working, but when I arrived there it was closed!!!! Apparently, they do not open till 8:30. I was a bit disappointed, to tell the truth.

But - I will be back. Not today, as i can't make it this evening, but I will be back!!!! I also promised to myself that once I finish week 4, I will get a pair of running shoes. I am just using casual trainers (Diesel) now, and I feel they are not the best for running. So, as an incentive, that will be my treat.

Before I took my break, I started week 3. obviously, I will have to go back to week 2 now, but I hope it won't take too long. I also desperately need to lose weight, so I hope running will help me to do that.
