Good morning Whitewing and everyone else:D
I'm interested to see how you get along with the light thingy as seriously thinking of this myself for the office. It is so dark and miserable in there in winter that I feel it does affect my moods.
Let us know how you get on with it;)0 -
Cha76Michelle - out of interest, did you have pethidine when you had frugalmite?
Is that linked to PND then?
redglass i'd be interested to know what costco told you about joining. I am desperate to join after hearing what they sell. DH was going to get a card from his boss, but i think i'd rather have one in my own right if i can.
nyk pleased to see your move has gone fairly smoothly.
We are going to have a NSD here today - i think i might just stay in with my boys as we are all full of cold, and DS1 is in the wars. He fell over outside yesterday and split his top and bottom lip, and then he fell all the way down the stairs today. He's so accident prone at the moment. I think i will be doing very little as i was up a lot in the night as DS2 is struggling to breathe when asleep so we were up pretty much every hour.

My initial impressions are that it is very good. Definitely a whiter light than most. If I am suffiently nice to DH, I may have it in the bedroom for 30 minutes before I get out of bed. I think that would probably make the most noticeable difference. (It's not overly pretty to look at but for £20 I don't mind). Can't use it at night as may disrupt your sleep pattern, which is a shame as it would be easiest to use it for reading.
btw, nyk, I had post natal depression, and pethidine. (Although I think my circumstances had a lot to do with PND anyway, so wouldn't have solely been the drug. It wasn't helped by the fact that the treatment for PND was to stick some huge fizzing tablets up your back passage. Even the doctor laughed when I said yuk and burst into tears; doctor knew me very well and was sympathetic).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. I had pethedine with all 3 of my kids
I've always considered myself lucky I've never had PND (or even a noticeable case of "baby blues"), but had never heard of a link between pethadine and PND before  If I had then I think I may have tried without it for DD and DS2. DS1 would probably have caused me to rethink though, as he had his spine against mine during labour (painful even after pethadine), and they couldn't turn him once it was spotted 'cos he was a "big baby".
I'm 5' 2", and DS1 weighed in at 9lb!!! The midwife couldn't believe I'd had that size baby without any "help" or need of any stitches (haven't needed either with any of them -- 7lb, 9lb and 8lb 6oz)Cheryl0 -

It gets easier the more kids you have;) DD was number 4 of mine, she was 10.5lbs, 25 minute labour, no pain relief - think she just walked out on her own:rotfl: :rotfl:
Had PND after DS1 7.5lbs, 24 hour labour and every kind of pain relief I could get at the time- including pethidine - didn't know about link either.0 -
Gosh you're scaring me about giving birth:eek:. Don't worry I'm not pregnant yet but someday

The interview seemed to go well, so at least if I don't get it I know that it's not because I messed up... I think the fact that I'd read their whole 950 page conservation manual was worth a few bonus points! Plus they asked me about stuff that was in the manual, and I remembered!!!! Now I just have to hope the phone rings tomorrow...
I spent £1 on parking, 50p on chocolate therapy after the interview, and £4.95 on a set of 6 espresso cups and saucers that was reduced from £15 - another useful prezzie for someone. I was supposed to be getting petrol and deoderant... forgot about the deoderant, and took a wrong turn and missed the petrol station. Oh well, will have to buy petrol tomorrow. Should be OK for deoderant for a few days, if not I'll just have to be smelly :rotfl:Live on £11k in 20110 -
