    We love you too, Taka.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.
  • Oh dear, What did i start by talking about my birth story? :D

Whitewing, your comment about it being a no-spend day made me chuckle. If only. I was discharged from hospital at 2pm ish, i had him at 6am, so we were starving and stopped in the Burger King at the hospital to get some lunch. (Also had pricey car parking fees  ) Then we came home, and sat and scoffed it while waiting for my sister to return DS1 to us. I timed it so well. He only goes to nursery one day a week while i am on maternity leave, and it fell on that day, so he was watched without severely inconveniencing anyone. My sister came to wait at our house till he woke, dressed him, dropped him at nursery and that was it. The only downside of being home so quick was my mum wanted to visit to see him, so i had to put up with mum, sis aned BIL arrive at our house at nearly 10pm and as we had been up most of the previous night we weren't impressed.

Nothing really frugal to add, we have eaten leftovers all day, i have just finished off the last 2 chocolates in a box my MIL got us for our anniversary, and i should really make a banana cake tonight to use up some yellow stickered bananas, but seems though DS2 will probably wake up several times again tonight i really cannot be bothered. I might just go to bed, and then make it when i get up at some ungodly hour in the morning.

lynda best of luck with the job

  • Yep thanks everyone for sharing your birth stories.... :shhh:
 I dont want to hear anymore!! I just like hearing lovely ones - thank you!! Time is going SO quick.... I'll soon be telling mine!! ;)

Havent really got a lot to say, was very organised earlier and wrapped some Christmas presents. Had a yummy very frugal tea, partridge in the slow cooker (from parents), veg (from garden) and reduced new potatoes. Yum!

BTW, havent been rude and ignored everyone elses comments, for some reason my 'thanks' button wont work - but thank you everyone!! x
  • I'm just back from T*sc*, the first time in at least 9 or 10 weeks i actually went to the shop because I had the car rather than getting the order online and delivered. Not a good idea. I definitely spend more money  because certain value items weren't available and I felt actually quite lost and confused because I'm so used now to go through the categories online and seeing special offers better rather than having to search through the shelves. I didn't even buy all the things I needed because I couldn't find it or didn't have the patience :(. Oh well, next time back to online ordering.

  • Good evening all,

No party tonight, so I went to costco instead. I bought a great big bag of lentils, 2 mega bottles of Lea and Perrins sauce and halved for cup noodles with my sister. Not a great big spend, but had a real good mooch around and had a think of the fresh stuff I'll get nearer the time when DH is due back.

My stockpile is really going well now, it is spilling out of the cupboard so will really need to find additional space quickly.

I want to take up baking, maybe make my own rolls etc. I've got a breadmaker and haven't used it for ages, so I might dust that down and get it going. What do you think I'd need for a good baking supply cupboard? Flour, (obviously), yeast, butter, and perhaps things like syrup and treacle I guess.

Lynda, good luck with the job. I think you've been looking for ages, same as me. I hope you get this as you really deserve it.

I hope everyone is doing well, all this talk of having babies is making me glad that I haven't had one, purley due to the pain though as I love wee ones. I'm not good with pain.

    Speak later,

    SL x

Yes, watched it while updating my spreadsheets and next years budget.
Seems like I won't be joining 4k, might have to be more like 5 or 6k which is still better than the last two years and will enable me to reach my savings target. But we'll see, the last three months of this year with christmas, going home and on holiday aren't totally representative, I guess.

Me too. What a t*sser the RK was. I hope I wasn't like that when younger even though I was a RK. What really came across though was the very "poor" attitude of her parents!

Definitely sugar, at least caster and icing!! Eggs are always handy as well ;) but you can't really stockpile these (she says thinking back to an experience with a green egg  ). Cocoa powder is always a firm favourite with me when cooking, who doesn't like chocolate cake or biscuits?? eat-drink-smiley-5145.gif
