Gosh you're scaring me about giving birth:eek:. Don't worry I'm not pregnant yet but someday :). Has anyone a more pleasant experience for the first birth?

Off for a while to start tackling my longest to do list in ages (29 main tasks).

For every horror story there are plenty of easier birth stories so don't worry!!

Both of mine were induced which I was told makes it more intense. Even so both were over within 3 hours from start to finish and I can honestly say it didn't hurt much at all and that was without any pain relief

    Good evenitng everybody,

DD was due on Halloween, I started day before, spent Halloween sleeping as the whole process stopped, got kicked out of the hospital on Halloween evening, back in on following morning and DD was born just after 6pm with C section. Gas and air made me sick, they wouldn't give me pethidin but epidural was a bliss considering the time I was waiting madam to appear. And now she is four .

I am retiring temporarily from frugalism and will be back when I have got myself othewise sorted. Will be reading and posting thou.

Do you still remember that letter I posted without a stamp and was stalking the postman to be able to put stamp on it? Well - I got that placement :j the confirmation letter came today.

I off for a bit of a lie down before tackling evolution, domestication and adaptation. Back later...

Oh don't be scared. I didn't feel a thing once I'd had the pethidine. Couldn't even push as couldn't feel the contractions. DS was sucked out with a vacuum cleaner. I just wanted a cup of tea.

That was a no spend day, now I come to think about it...

Sounds sensible Marru - you just have an awful lot to get done at the mo. Keeping up to date with studies and eating as well as possible have to be the priorites, oh and dd obviously:D .
I've got next week off work to try and catch up on overwhelming jobs. Got a 'bl**dy h*ll' list of 26 things:eek: . Am going to try and get one done tonight while dinner is cooking. Saw the James Bond film last night - used my 'orange wednesday' option for the first time ever, so a free ticket:j .
Good luck with the interview results lynda, and even more importantly, the new bf:D . My OH's got a vital interview next week. We will be glad to be the other side of that.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Well, since BF is gone now for a week and I have the house to myself I made a good start on my tasks list. Cleaned the oven, washed the pillows and the duvet, decluttered wardrobe and made two bags for charity shop. Only 24 tasks to go......
finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)
  • fingers crossed for lyndasharp

Marru - sometimes real life takes over the fun virtual one ,just do what you can when you can ,somedays this place distracts me more than i like and i have essays and reading to do but i feel i still need to be here or i would go off the rails and demotivate

Marru, congratulations on getting that placement!

Lyndasharp, good luck, hope you get the job :)

Baby stories - I don't take any notice of them and I don't pass them on - least said, soonest mended and, like whitewing says, it's usually a no spend day. :D However, I've read all the posts and need to say that I am not aware of any scientific link between pethidine and post natal depression. I simply asked out of curiosity; I have an interest in halogen based 'products'.

Janey - I now have the fire kindled after splitting a couple of logs and we are making the most of the 'free' heat. It makes such a difference to be warm and not need to worry about the electricity. :D

New frugalhome is almost organised, just another 2 weeks playing go-between and then we'll can settle in and prepare for next year's challenge. Main differences where savings can be made are:
    1. less rent,
    2. no water or sewage rates,
    3. smaller house needs less electricity,
    4. log fire for (carbon neutral) heat source,
    5. farm has huge woodland where we can collect firewood
    6. nearest shop about 5 miles away so there's no chance of popping out to buy anything extra
    7. plenty of potato & veggie growing space
    8. very windy, clothes will dry quickly if they don't land in the next county
    9. larder in kitchen means storage for bulk buys & offers
    10. space for chickens
Back soon, just need to sign off and back on again to see if I can get a better connection speed than 33k :rotfl:

PS: Wildlife update - DS was watching Mr Fox jumping the wall and crossing the drive.
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

    :hello: everyone!
Well, today was meant to be a NSD, but it didn't quite work out like that. I decided at lunch that I needed chocolate, and so bought some :o ah well, never mind. :oWasn't a big spend day, and man was the chocolate yummy! I did do some christmas shopping, but half the shops aren't open in my town and wednesday, and i forgot! So i couldn't do as much as I planned, but never mind.
Hope everyone is okay this evening xx

    Fingers crossed Lynda!

Congrats on the placement Marru! I hope taking a step back helps you!

 at all the birth stories

Please forgive me for I have sinned... again... I went clothes shopping  :o I bought a winter coat (needed) and a top to wear at Xmas parties (not really needed but very nice... ) There was a 20% off for card holders event on. :o The top was reduced from £25 to £10 (£8 after discount) and the coat was £45 (£36 after discount) so should have been £44 in total  but I had £16 in vouchers so cost £28 in the end.

I also returned the jumper I bought doing the mystery shop so if I count my refund I only spent £13 today:j (ok thats cheating but :D as I almost forgot to take the jumper back :o ) Bet you the voucher for the mystery shop'll turn up tomorrow since I went today... That would have been another £10 off...

I had my treatment review today. Looks like that was my penultimate appointment :j It was a toss up between today being the last or having another review in a few months but I have a sneeking suspision my therapist decided on another appointment because she wants to hear about me hosting Xmas. :rotfl: I really hope I can do it... So few people have set foot in my flat in the last few years. Even earlier this year I was still getting so scared by the thought someone setting foot in my flat that I ended up having a panic attack and being off work after the gas man read the meter (immediately next to my front door). :o Things like that remind me how far I've come :j - I'm actually excited about my having people round (as long as my flat is seriously tidier by then  ) and food issues seem to be getting better and better :T Long may it continue :D

I hope everyone elses problems are improving... you are all such very supportive, lovely people:iloveyou:
