Sar, I'm sorry to hear that. I don't have any practical advice for you either but just to let you know that we are all thinking of youThe only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:

Hi IA, I'm really sorry to hear your news, my parents divorced when I was 11 & my sis was 6, we're both fine. It will make you stronger. It doesn't seem like that now but in time it will. Afew of my friends parents divorced when they were younger and are sane so don't worry too much about the effect on your children. I can't offer any advice financially but just my support. Big Hugs xx
I'd totally agree with this. You both know you're great parents and from previous posts you've made on here it's clear for all to see. Whether their parents are together or not, kids need someone to care for them and it's obvious that you two both do. Don't have any worries at all about seperating if it's the right thing for both of you - the kids will be fine. I was when it happened to my parents. The worst thing would have been them trying to play happy families when a split would clearly have been a better solution.
On a practical front, just tell us what you need and I for one will be happy to help out in whatever way I can.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Hi guys. I just want to say a massive thank you to all of you for your love and support. Bunny you're one in a million thank you and will definately buy you and OH some wine/beer for your kindness. Today we went into town to sort the girls out with somewhere to sleep which was hard but it's another step of the process done. Going to go up Ste's mums in a bit and see whats what.
again, thank you everyone for your support. it means a lot to us both.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Hi sorry to hear your news. Hope the split is amicable it makes it so much easier. Anyways I registered so I could post this. HAve you heard of freecycle? I have not used it but have heard that others have and everything is apparently free. This may help Ste get the things he needs or at least the basics. Also place an ad in the free ad papers it may spur someone to have a clear out. Hope this has been of use. Kind regards aagm210

Hi IA - I'm really sorry to hear your news.
I haven't been on the boards a lot just our thread in the moneysavers arms, which is about us moving on after finding out our husbands have cheated.
I'm sure you must have made the hard decision to split with a heavy heart, hope it works out for both of you & that overall you can be the great parents you have been to your children. It's going to be hard hun, but we'll get there & you can always join us on our thread, even if you are rebuilding your life for different reasons;) we'll all support you on that journeyComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

So sorry to hear that you and Ste have separated. Maybe the time apart will be enough to give you both a different perspective and then make a decision about the future.
Wayne and I separated back in 2005 and I remember going to see my GP and getting a referral to a counsellor and that really helped (just to clarify my thoughts and emotions). I also saw a CAB counsellor who gave me news I didn't WANT to hear but NEEDED to hear!
I visited the library and got out a gazillion books on separation, divorce, coping and even "DIY for the inept" and spent time reading them and gathering information.
Just when I'd finished packing up all his belongings, we met up and decided that we wanted to reconcile rather than divorce. We then spent the next six weeks doing a lot of talking before the reconciliation became a done deal (a lot needed sorting out and changing).
I'm not putting it well, but take the time YOU need to make the best decision for YOU and YOUR GIRLS.
(((((hugs)))))
