I'm sat here with a cup of tea in my fav pink mug, and it's cheered me up no end, I'm not sure that a piece of crockery should really have that effect! Am sat here planning my keeping warm strategy, should really be putting it into action but it's the thought that counts right?
My keep warm strategy will have to include persuading little bear to keep his clothes on even when mummy isn't looking

Ooooo Sybil has come out to play & welcome to Sampa.
Thanks all for your thoughts about my FIL, he is still in hospital, was waiting for x-rays when I spoke to MIL at 8.30. They think he has got pneumonia and will be looking to give him some strong anti-biotics.
Tea from the Moski was lovely. Leftover chicken, some frozen peas and sweetcorn (smartprice), a tin of new potatoes (Tesco value) chopped up and a jar of Asda 4p curry sauce. Very yummy (and cheap).
I'm now tucked up n bed, but still feel rather cold brrrrrr.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Whatatwit - glad to hear that your in laws are getting looked after. Once a problem is identified then medical science can do wonders!
Your curry sounds lovely. I, too, have only just taken delivery of a Remoska and tonight we had chunks of parsnip and sweet potato stirred up with some oil and some garlic and herb mash (
from a jar) cooked in the Remoska with a casserole in the slow cooker.
I have just posted on another thread. Today I have used... My microwave, my toaster, my slow cooker, my remoska, my breadmaker, my oven, my washing machine and in desperation I put on my tumble dryer for half an hour. Now I really ought to go and use my iron, but that can wait a little while...

Anyone else wondering what Morwenna managed to concoct with the tights?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0

Marie, I am so pleased that they have managed to get to the cause of Ulrik's stroke. Great big hugs for you both.

Sybil....step away from the iron.

Meanmarie - that's great news that Ulick's on the mend.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:I now have coffee on my screen
*I would put tights over head and steal chocolate cake from next door. leaving a half-eaten pasty and a banana in its place to confuse them
At the moment I am craving bran flakes and caramel syrup. I understand the caramel syrup because I could happily drown in the stuff but I don't even like bran flakes, but it was a strong enough craving for me to go to tescos and buy a huge packet of them and now I am sitting here eating them by the handful. I want my marbles back, if anyone has seen them
:rotfl:
Okay the tights were seriously RTC :rotfl: And so you now all know how foot & mouth is spread, it's the big supermarket chains failure to appreciate the very real danger of free range, baby nylons walking all over the place, unlegislated! :rotfl: It's one of those all too common domestic accidents

And I thought you were going to use the tights to contain the hybrid peachanas that will appear overnight in your fruit bowl whilst grilling the bacon & eating a Ginsters....:rotfl: If anyone was to read this thread today, what with PenPin's Sis's BF, "happy" chickens & free range tights....:D
Whatatwit, hope your FIL improves & MIL takes care of herself while he's in the hospital.
Meanmarie, glad to hear you had a constructive chat with the Dr, and that you know a bit more about what can & can't be done when Ulick gets home.
I haven't done very much OS today - spent £143 in Asda  but it was payday, and we needed everything I bought (especially 2 sets of underwear and a bottle of sherry
) but I'm going to see Mr T tomorrow armed with £15 off £60 spend, to buy other goodies like a red wine box, some vodka and everything that I forgot to buy today coz I didn't take my list
Hey ho, will go to bed & see what's happened to the economy when I wake up. I'm one of the unfortunate souls with an old company pension in an American fund that's now worth diddly squat - if I'm lucky  Think I will hoick it out & bung it into a stakeholder - at least the fund will buy loads of cheap shares if I do that.0 -

mmmm sounds like the wine was RTC also

Celyn, was that your marbles I saw in a tunnel in Switzerland.....along with a hat containing a few quid, some sweets & a button?
You really need to get some sleep.......I mean, branflakes - you'll get more benefit by eating the box!0
