<<<I put a lovely orgasmic chicken in the slow cooker overnight>>>
Is that one of those 'happy chickens 'that HFW is always going on about:rotfl: :rotfl:
Yes, those are the ones. I even looked like him this morning before I brushed my hair - now there is a scary thought!! My kids call them Happy Chickens, I call 'em orgasmic!! I introduced Happy Meat to the kids a few years ago, (no I dont mean McDs') and now we wont eat Sad meat! It makes for expensive meat, but have cut the amount of meat we eat by 2/3, and make it all streeeetch now too!If I had a pound for every...... oh sod it, if I just had a pound I'd be richer!0 -
Have roast potatoes in the Remoska and will put some pork in later - have cauli cheese on the hob.
DH after groaning in dismay when the "moski" arrived yesterday -asked me this afternoon to show him how to use it!!!!!;)
Do you think he may be changing his attitude? Especially when I told him the moski used 650 watts and the oven used 2000!!!

Well, I found my onions. Dear heart had helped me unpack the shopping when I came in on Saturday. What I failed to realised that he had placed one carrier bag on top of a chair that was then slid under the table. I cannot imagine why he thought I would find it there, I suppose it is a form of compliment. Well, I had only then of necessity bought a pack of three onions anyway so it could be worse. In fact, I think it was. There was a very splendid looking savoy cabbage in the same bag, but shrink wrapped in plastic and we have had the heating on timer and we have also had lots of cooking in the kitchen. In fact I found the bag containing the cabbage, the onions and a butternut squash when the cabbage tried to crawl towards the door. Joking aside, it was extremely slimy.
But yesterday I took little bear all the way to the doctors, where I requested the wrong repeat prescriptionthen we had a long chat at the newsagents and posted the ebay parcels. I have loads of washing done and have changed the towels. I am looking for a suitable occasion to change the bedding. I have to sneak past little bear or he grumbles dreadfully. He is very very grumpy today. I still have to do the chilli vodka/vinegar/oil but there aren't that many chillis ready yet, so I will do the vodka next. I was also thinking of obtaining a small bottle of inexpensive vodka and putting in a few slices of fresh ginger and a few spoons of sugar. It would be a good pick me up for dear heart during winter.
Evil cat is sulking and convinced that I have arranged the foul weather to spite her. Well, if I could...
At the moment I have the heating on to try and get my mountain of washing dry. In the kitchen the slow cooker is on (beef stew for tea) as is the oven (weetabix cake x 4) and the breadmaker. I feel like I have just come from a turkish bath. I am hoping that the sealant painted on our walls while we were in Pickering will stop some of the problems we have with damp. There are places where the plaster has fallen from the walls and the bricks underneath feel damp to the touch.
It could be worse, there could be snakes.
I fear the tomato plants which were unwatered while I was in Pickering are just about done for, but I will salvage what I can to ripen on window sills.
I think I had better go and get grumpy little bear out of his playpen as he is not having any truck with this 'nap' business. He will be dreadful at bedtime!Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Thanks Sunnyday, that recipe sounds delicious, and other than the actual lentils and bacon I have all the other ingredients in the cupboard anyway. I've put red lentils and bacon on the shopping list and I'll definitely make a batch really soon. On second thoughts I don't think I've got any spuds either, but I noticed that Tesco seem to have lamb mince on a really good deal until the end of this week so was planning a shepherd's pie anyway... Ah yes, meal planning, what happened to that? I've been out of the habit since early July!
This Saturday would be the ideal time to go down to Lewisham Market for piles of fresh fruit & veg as well... excapt I need to do a bit more planning first so I don't end up indulging in any of my bad habits, which include: (1) buying loads of fruit and veg at low prices, lugging it home in the trolley then realise I don't have space in the freezer for the huge quantities of soup and casserole it would make; (2) falling off the dietary wagon by pigging out at the mini donuts stall at the market, and (3) succumbing to the lure of TK Maxx
Anyway, for all I know I might be spending the weekend under a blanket on the sofa - my throat's gone really sore and scratchy and I've started sneezing :rolleyes:Operation Get in Shape

Hi All, Consultants are pleased with the progress DH has made although they want him back for an Echogram on his heart. Just made it in time for app. as we were held up with a RTA. Didn't seem as if anyone was hurt. Thank Goodness.
Got home and made a 9" apple cake, an apple crumble, 4 steak onion and mushroom individual pies, 4 cheese stuffed chick breasts wrapped in bacon, 4 lb of chicken Vindaloo and a loaf. A joint effort really as DH loves to help so I let him peel and chop all of the apples, onions and mushrooms and let him clean up as I went along. I know, I know, I'm all heart. :A
ANNIESTAR, Glad you enjoyed the Parcelfarce, couldn't resist it.
JACKI O, I allways do the Monday wash, my Mum would never hang washing out on a Sunday, as she considered it common, That's stayed with me and cannot bring myself to wash on Sun. Showing my age !!
We could really do with curling up with dinner in front of the TV but we have to go to an Investment Meeting at 6.30 at our local. Should be one laugh after another. 12 of us have put into a kitty and bought shares, it's been going for 4 years now, nothing serious just a bit of fun. At least we are in profit ...... for the moment!!
Hope you all have a good evening. :beer:0
