Jackie my darling, have you been on the gin ? , its Tuesday :D xx
  • Good morning :D

Well it's rained overnight, but dry now, but I don't think it's worth pegging any washing out just yet. Still very chilly too.

Dsis-in-law got home yesterday:j :j :j I think she's making amazing progress. Popping over for a visit in a minute or two. Well she'll need help to get through that stack of choccies:rotfl:

DH is still dying from man flu:rolleyes: Yes he has got a really awful cold, but I don't see how groaning actually helps!!!

The financial news is terrible at the moment and while many have got themselves into this mess, I think of those who tried to make provision for themselves through pension savings plans, who now own a worthless pot. The stock market crash doesn't just hit the rich. We will come through it, but a lot of folks who have done everything right are going to be hurt by this. So sad.

Oh dear, now I've depressed myself again:o

Hope you all have something good in your day, (((hugs)))) for the sad, ill or just if you want one.

    Shez, will you please post:D

Jackie, try E-bay for the button hooks, or an antique fair/market, they often have them there, from fancy silver ones  to plainer ones.

Pen-Pin, I can see you are going to get some mileage out of OH's new admirer ;)

  • Mornin' all

Gd came home yesdy so I'm sure he'll be feeling alot better vry soon. I'm not going to visit him for a couple of weeks as he will have loads of friends visiting in the meantime and I don't want to tire him out too much.

The weather in Diss is DISS-mal!! Dull and damp, but I'm at work so I don't need to worry about wether to put the heating on or not cos I ain't paying for it! :p

PP - loved your post last night gave me a good giggle.

I do still watch the news but thats cos I'm a nosey so and so, I think that the high flyers should pay their bonus's back into the economy at the mo and help us all out. I also think there should be a cap on the amount they get for bonus's as well. I'm not going to let it worry me though as I know that I can pay all my bills each month and if I run out of money for food I shall sell one of the kids!

Buy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning

  • Hi everyone,

Hugs to those who need it.

I'm still pottering about this morning, but finally put the heating on before, I can only snuggle under my duvet for so long on the couch!

Off to work in 40 mins, made pl.

Seemed to be plagued by flys, slightly bigger than fruit flys just killed a dozen in the kitchen by squirting them with stardrops/white vinegar mix!

Never had an issue before. Can't find a source, but the little blighters seem to multply quickly! yuck! might have to buy some proper fly spray later and blitz everywhere, I hate the idea of chemicals ~(and spending for them)but I am pulling my hair out!

Right now I'm having amnesia and deja- vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before
  • ARghhh flies.... hate em, but I have discovered something that works! Get some Citronella essential oil and pour a few drops onto a damp cloth and wipe all around your windows and doors. Do every 4 or 5 days. It takes a day to get to them, seems to make em drowsy and easy to splat, then they stop coming in :D
If I had a pound for every...... oh sod it, if I just had a pound I'd be richer!
  • Thanks will try that. Whole house stinks of vinegar at the mo!
