  • Morning all

Horrible and cold and wet this morning (the weather, not me). I'ts no good, my resolve not to turn the heating on until the end of October is wavering :o Think I might stop watching the news as it is all gloom, doom and despair. Suppose I could just stick my fingers in my ears and go la la la :D

Nipping to Netto this morning to see if they have any storage drawers left. I want to put one in the conservatory to store my embroidery threads and knitting stuff. Doing pork chops and leek and bacon bake for dinner, so need to buy some chops and bacon. Boiled the chicken carcass yesterday, so will make some soup today.

    Hope everyone is OK x

    Morning all

Back to w**k tomorrow after 2 weeks off. Looking forward to catching up on all the gossip, but not the work, obviously  :D

More housework and ironing today. Weather looks damp so don't know if its worth putting any washing outside. We shall see.

Fitted a new kitchen 2 Christmases ago and noticed last night that one of the doors next to the oven was heat damaged. So glad we took out insurance on the cooker when we bought it, so going to ring them today to come and have a look. I would imagine the rubber seal on the top oven must need replacing. Luckily we got our kitchen from B&Q and DH was able to go and get a replacement.

Will try to avoid any news reports today as it is sooooooo depressing. Knew that this would come and bite the Govt on the bum eventually, but why didn't they see it coming and try to prevent it??

    Have a good day all
  • Morning all,it's cold, wet, windy and horrible here and instead of putting the heating on I wrapped up in my fleecy everythings when I got out of bed at half six and I'm so warm.Trouble is I don't want to take them off and I'll have to get ready soon.
I was supposed to be doing jury service for the next fortnight but I'm so happy I got a phone call to say it's been deferred as they have too many jurors.I just hope it's summer when they next call me.Don't want to go at all realy, can't stand the thought of having to sit still doing nothing will drive me mad.
I'm having my usual Tuesday, going into town and see what I can find.
MrT seems to have fully recovered from his bout of man flu so I can stop repeating at regular intervals"don't worry darling you'll feel better tomorrow" Was getting very tedious to be honest. Are'nt men such babies.
My orders for tea tonight is beans on toast,MrT when bringing me my tea in bed this morning(yes he's well trained) said all this talk on he radio of recession made me think of when we were realy hard up and I thought of beans on toast(don't ask.mind boggles at what must go on in his brain, bless him)so I want some for tea.Well he can have some.I'll have something nice instead.
    Beth-good luck for hospital
    Hester-hope your day's better
Marie-best wishes to you and Ulick
Heidiboo-I hope your delivery arrives today
Sammyjig-I feel for you.Toothache is so horrible.
To everyone else have a good day.Take care xxx.

Ditto here! Think we'll get out the hot water bottles tonight - me & DH had cold feet in bed last night.
Got to get new shoes, hat & gloves for baby DS today. Raining so no washing today, but still got loads of ironing to do. Also still behind with stitching for work & making Christmas cards.

Chicken from Sunday to pick over for soup for tea, or might do as stew with dumplings. Got to stay in this aft cos cable man coming to fit new digital box, so going to bake parkin & make rosehip syrup.
September grocery challenge went WAY over, so got to do food stocktake today & go back to making (& sticking to!) menu plans. We were going to switch to sky from cable but worked out too much, & got a really good deal from cable to entice us to stay with them - bill down from over £50 a month to just over £20! :j
:kisses3: Hugs & kisses to all those in need!
    See you later,

  • Morning all, there must be something in the air today cos i too have decided to boycott the news, i have made a decision to look after my own and my family's life and sorry to say but let everyone else take responsibility for theirs, we have always lived within our means, it does'nt mean we have never had hard times but we always have a bit put aside for a rainy day!!
Anyway with that off my chest, DH has made a sterling start on the bathroom, the old bath is out and the pipework has been moved for the shower. We have a couple of new floorboards to lay today then we should be able to get a start with the cladding and possibly get the shower cubicle in tomorrow!! The powerflush took 4 hours yesterday, so held us up a bit with the work, still it's done now.
DH came in from nightshift at 7am ,he was freezing, and i will have to get him up at 9.30 for his doc's appointment so i am going to do him a nice cooked breakfast.
WM has just finished and will have to dry on airer today as it is pouring here.
Will do mince and dumplings for tea and more lovely HM soup for lunch.
Have already done online banking, and have a few things to list on ebay tonight.
Checked my tracking on the Woolworths order yesterday for DD2'S nintendo wii and wii fit and it had disappeared so i emailed them and they said i will have to re-order if i want it. It was supposed to be delivered this week so i am not impressed with their service. Will have a look around and see if i can get it elsewhere.
Have a nice day all, BSB xxx

    Morning all

Not looking very nice out today.

Not feeling too great this morning, so finding it hard to get motivated. Nothing OS planned for today, not sure what we are having for tea tonight either. Perhaps another cup of tea will help.

Still haven't put the heat on, and it's 23C in the living room, so not cold but it feels chilly. DD1 has been coughing most of the night so will see how she is when I wake her up.

Have work planned with the girls today, and we wont be going out anywhere until later, when hopefully, the rain will have eased off.

    Pipkin xxxx
