The 43-point leadership pay spine for treachers extends to £105,000 for inner-London.

If teachers were bankers they would all go on strike now.

  • They can't be any worse than the teachers we have now. Most just become teachers because the university fees and grant they get.

I'm not sure about that. My best mate is a teacher. All A grades at GCSE and A level, a first class degree from Cambridge, and teaching is what she wanted to do (after working in publishing for 4 years or so).

    Exactly.

It's not quite the same as saying "Head-Teachers get £100,000 minimum".

I doubt if there are many posting who would have the skill, experience, stamina and leadership qualities to manage an inner city comprehensive.

    I certainly wouldn't.

I can think of dozens of jobs both in the public sector & private sector that pay more without having 1/4 of the responsibility.

If you think people go into teaching for the money, you are dreaming.

  • Bankers retraining as Estate Agents would be more appropriate. Both are nothing but oily spivs who'd rob their own granny

I agree with most but not the last bit, it is a very well paid job compared to fire fighters etc and no more important.

If they did not do it for the money go to africa and do it for free as they could benefit more.

Every one works for the money the only person I heard say they loved their job was Hugh Heffner (well that’s a lie I have never spoken to him);)

Would you do it for free!
  • Yes, I would. I might do a bit less, though.

Well you would be a great help to society if you would, but I suspect you do not actualy mean that.;)
