Maggie - Sorry to hear about the problems at the caravan! I hope it isnt too bad! Also I don't blame you for nto venturing outside, its horrible out there but very pretty to look at :D Glad to hear the de-humidifier is working a treat too!
I also need to get some birdfood ordered, bless the little things, bet they are struggling at the minute!

John phoned before to say the caravan looks OK, and the central heating still appears to be running (on the frost free setting) so touch wood all is OK. He's going to cut some kale to bring home for us to try, but the broccoli isn't budding yet, and the beans have disappeared. There's frozen hail and a sprinkle of snow in the field. The last bit of road was a bit hairy, he reckons they only bothered gritting as far as the bus route. ;) So guess he'll be on his way back soon.

Hope he remembers to feed the birds and fill the various feeders before he leaves - we won't be back to feed them again before March, but I figure the bit of extra might just make the difference for a few individuals if nothing else. There'll never be any problem if anyone asks what I'd like for birthday or xmas now - birdfood! :D

Robins like mild cheese if you don't have any food right now and want to give them a bit extra.

Edit: robins apparently love live meal worms too, but I'm afraid at the mo I draw the line at that... Can just about manage the freeze dried ones for them, but even those make me feel a bit ick when I see them.

£170 is a pretty good price i'd say looking at the RRP of £243...showers-direct2u is £40 delivery ...at the time i bought my enclosure in december 2008 the Geo6 range had only been around a month and suppliers were very thin on the ground.
If your considering it i'd now call up showers-direct2u and play them off against PTS.

Mirroring the brands of shower enclosure i considered i'd look into Manhattan and Simpsons one's too which are both good makes.

    Hiya Rictus. Happy reading.

Oh, I lost you in multi quote Maggie. Anyway, I'm glad to see you included the others, I'm getting (or have I got) a reputation on here :rotfl: .

The only way I can do mealworms for our robins is to buy packs of robin food (mixed seed, fruit, dried mealworms - Wilkinsons I think) and just tip some into the tray, can't handle the things. Knowing that robins don't normally cling onto feeders and usually feed from a table or floor level, I watched in fascination a couple of weeks ago as a robin sat on the empty tray of our bird feeder, studied the hanging feeder for quite some time, went away and when he came back he had worked out how to cling on. He regularly feeds from the fat ball feeder now :T. D-i-l doesn't have a garden but has a feeder on the wall by their front door. She has a robin come to feed and says it's the size of a tennis ball, she reckons it's swallowed a fat ball and it's stuck :rotfl: . He doesn't come to our garden, wish he would I'd photograph him and turn him into a Christmas card for next year!

    Hello again, quick question !

We are going to get a new PVCu back door, looking at options and my question is :

If we buy one to fit ourselves from B&Q etc how do you measure the aperture for size - do you measure inside or outside ?
  • Hi Everyone, hope you all had a lovely weekend!

We have made a start tackling the master bedroom! Wallpaper has been ordered so very excited :)

I think I recall some of you previously mentioning fitted wardrobes.. could you recommend anywhere?

I'm still struggling with this  but to be fair we've not been in a position to do anything about it for a while.

Do you want sliding doors or hinged doors?

Lots of people recommend Ikea Pax, although freestanding some people have bought those instead of built-in, depends if they fit your space though.

Looking forward to seeing some pics of your bedroom, can't wait to see your wallpaper.
