Good luck. Would it help to take a notepad with you so you can make notes as things are being discussed?

Hello all. Today's been a good one here, OH has finally given me control of the food shopping. So a new era of cooking from scratch has dawned! I bought a £9 meat pack from a butcher's at the market, which'll easily last a couple of weeks, and did a biggish asda shop. It'll probably work out a bit more expensive than the previous value range ready meals, but it'll be a lot better in other ways. And I've finally got myself into gear and called the local hairdressing college. Where I lived before cuts at the college were about £15 (five years ago). So I was very pleased to find out that here they're between £4 and £6. So I'm booked in for Friday.

A downside was the the doctors had yet again lost my repeat prescription request, which I handed in over a week ago. That's the second time in a few months. I get my scripts weekly so there's a higher chance of something going wrong, but it's a bit much I think. Luckily there was a doctor in reception so they just printed one off and he signed it, but if there hadn't been I might not have had my meds, which wouldn't have been good.

    Good luck Maz!

Hi everyone, just a quick pop in to say hello before I go back to work.

Sounds like you have had a good day Ames but  to the Doctors surgery...OH once picked up a prescription that had his name on it but someone at a different address, totally wrong tablets.

Nice to see you back OliveOyl........I was chatting away to another oliveoyl on another tread when she kindly pointed out she had no idea who I was.....glad I didnt mention the lego:eek: :rotfl:

Back feels a bit more comfortable now the anti inflammatories are starting to work.

I had couscous and some flapjack and custard for lunch...bloody lovely:D
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

  • I'm back from my all dayer. Well, it was all rather interesting, I did get a bit concerned at the 'round the table' bit and I said I was 'Management Support' and they were all managers, but then I realised that none of them have done what I've done (ie PR, Marketing, re-branding, future planning etc) so I just kept opening my mouth and spouting waffle! :rotfl: Fab lunch (good choice by however picked the menu ;) ) and we did some personality test stuff in the morning and I found out that I have really changed. I did a very similar thing about 14 years ago and came out very a kind, caring, considerate listener, but the extreme of that would be not assertive, afraid to rock the boat and a doormat. Ihad tiny bits of 'red' which were leader skills.

I came out a leader this time!!! Myhead of service said 'ooh, Keren, we really aren't tapping into the qualities we have to offer, are we'. I thought - yep, for me, this is what it was all about today.

Shows I'm much more assertive and able to stand up for myself and to be honest that is a result of coming out of the other side of the carp with Cruella as I was quite meek and mild before hand assertiveness wise.

So some good seems to have come of it all!
