Groan - never again!

I was so ill yesterday as a result of overindulging the night before! I think it has put me off wine for life!

Had to go to bed hungry in the end as I just could not eat.......I kind of lost the whole day yesterday which I absolutely hate...still feel a bit rough this morning!

Wanted to get back into flylady this week to get ready for christmas so here goes the list for today. And I have bought Chloe some dora and in the night garden big girl pants - I think we may try potty training again.

Minging Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
Level One

Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
Level Two
Sweep and mop floors
Clean the oven & hob
Wipe dining table.. (clean table cloth if necessary)
Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc ..
Choose one small appliance to clean thoroughly..
Clean door fronts and insides & fronts of appliances.. don't forget those kick boards..
Defrost the freezer.. clean it out and make use of those things which need using!
Extra Mission : help yourself

  1. clean the fridge..
  2. Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps.. a toothbrush is great for cleaning away the gunk!
  3. 33 fling boogie..
  4. Phone someone you love just to tell them so!!
  5. Empty the bin.. wash it out.. and make it smell SWEET

Sammy - I miss wine but not nearly as much as I miss my vodka and cokes:o

Busy couple of days for me, we've got the resit exams tomorrow so today will be about preparing for it (I sometimes feel like a cross between god and a magician, pulling miracles out a hat literally at the last minute! They'll miss me in July 2009:cool:

Going swimming and then to aqua aerobics tonight and hopefully I'll get to do 30 lengths of the pool this time.

In MSE news, I have to confess that I've been really REALLY naughty and bought for myself and sister in law a ciccia bag for christmas (SIL is lovely and most years we buy her little presents and then once every 5 years have a blow-out). Ciccia is by the designer (Ruth Pinnock) who did Radley bags and you can tell they're similar, but covered in cats as opposed to dogs (http://www.ciccia.co.uk/) Wayne will go ballistic when he hears how much they were, but I think I'll tell him they retail for £130, but I got them for £100 and cashback through quidco (via ebay so maybe 5p cashback:o), but the bags are lovely.

Anyway, I'm offski to work, have a great day everyone and I hope to sneak online later on!

  • morning all. Early one for me, Ihave to go to an away day (well, 4 miles away!) and I've been invited because of what I used to do, job wise. It's a suit and make-up kind of meeting and I hope I don't just end up being seen as the 'admin person' there as everyone else is a manager from the 2 councils. As it is I have to be there an hour earlier than everyone else because I have to pick up a data projector from work for the guy doing the day and he'll be at the venue at 8.30.

Not been to something like this for years so a bit nervous. Also nervous about the drive (I know, stupid) but I might just grit my teeth and go for it in the meeting It's an opportunity to show the head of my service what I know, she's only ever seen me in my admin role.

    Jinky I looked:eek:  and resisted:T

I really shouldn't drink, it makes me depressed.. I am STILL in my dressing gown....and I still feel rough so I have txted my boss and asked if I can work from home, not sure how that one will go down...

I am back to my normal Monday morning blues of wishing I was a housewife (well not exactly a housewife, there are plenty of earning opportunities for me at home) but I really struggle with what I really want to do...Do I really want to be a qualified accountant?? I really wish I could make a sensible, mature, informed and non emotional decision.

When I got pregnant with Chloe the idea was always that I would give up work and stay at home, but that all went totally pear shaped with OH's redundancy and my employer just not even paying me my maternity pay....

I had to go back to work full time and even take on extra work on top and now it seems I have been sucked back into the stupid world of chasing my tail and I think I hate it.....

Sorry to whine on but I just needed to talk to someone....(and I have a three month notice period at work!)

Just wanted to put the info out into the air as it were Jinky, just listening to me waffle on is help in its self...As to not paying me my maternity pay it is a legal requirement and I was awarded the princely sum of £30k for the stress he put me through. Not that it meant anything as he went into administration and then receivership and I got exactly NIL!

But - life goes on..........I think I will do a sensible thing and make a list of advantages and disadvantages........
